These tissues are designed to have quality with a moist feeling, softness and smoothness such that the skin does not reddish or sore even after repeated use.For improving the softness and the surface smoothness as mentioned above, conventional moisturized tissues have a high blending ratio of LBKP (hardwood kraft pulp), where for example, the ratio of NBKP (softwood kraft pulp) is 30 to 40% and the ratio of LBKP is 60 to 70% in terms of the blending ratio of pulp in base paper. This is because the fiber of LBKP is thinner and shorter than that of NBKP, and therefore when the blending ratio is relatively increased, the ratio of LBKP on the surface layer increases to make the surface dense and smooth, so that a chemical solution containing the moisturizer remains on the surface layer, and an effect such as a moist feeling from the chemical solution is likely to ...

Fibrous structures comprising acidic cellulosic fibers and methods of manufacturing the same

Номер: US20200032456A1
Принадлежит: Kimberly Clark Worldwide Inc

The invention relates to fibrous structures having desirable physical properties, such as good tensile strength, low stiffness and high bulk, manufactured using a fiber furnish comprising cellulosic fibers having a pH of 5.0 or less and at least one strength resin. Not only do structures prepared with acidic fibers have desirable physical properties, they may also be manufactured in an energy efficient manner. To achieve the greatest energy savings it is generally desirable that acidic fibers not be subjected to mechanical treatment, such as by refining, prior to forming the fiber into a fibrous structure. Further, it may be desirable to subject the remainder of the fiber furnish to a minimal degree of mechanical treatment, such as by refining, so as to produce a furnish having a freeness greater than about 550 mL.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING FLUFF PULP SHEETS

Номер: US20170081802A1
Принадлежит:

An improved processes for making fluff pulp sheets mechanically eliminates many of the unwanted fiber-to-fiber bonding (fiber bundles) which may be contained in the sheet to produce consistent and uniform quality fluff pulp. Pulp slurry is deposited on a moving bottom forming wire to form a stock web. Pulp slurry is brought into contact with a moving top forming wire. The stock web is subjected to up and down dewatering creating separately formed layers to reduce fiber-to-fiber bonding. The stock web can be subjected to strong pulsating shear forces as it is being advanced along the bottom forming wire to break a majority of fiber bundles contained in the web. The pulp slurry can be deposited on the bottom forming wire utilizing a headbox with dilution control to selectively adjust the concentration of the pulp slurry. A shoe press can be used to dewater the web after it is subjected to the pulsating shear forces. The web can be dried utilizing conventional drying equipment, such as cylindrical driers. 1. A process for making a fluff pulp sheet , comprising:creating a pulp slurry which includes pulp fibers suspended in a liquid, the pulp slurry containing multiple fiber bundles formed from pulp fibers which are bonded together and dispersed within the pulp slurry;applying an amount of the pulp slurry onto a moving bottom forming wire to form a web thereon, the pulp slurry being dispensed by a headbox; andcontrolling the cross-directional weight basis of the web by varying the concentration of the pulp slurry being deposited from the headbox onto the bottom forming wire.2.
