As the seat cover is raised receptacle 4 rises to meet the underside of the seat affording access to small-bore urine channel 13, which access is denied when the lowering cover causes receptacle 4 to tip forward to feed the main drain and take advantage of strategically sited water-jets. In the process, both excrement and paper pass though cutting assembly 5 reducing excrement to an optimum size without compressing it. Provision is made for fumes to be extracted by the most direct route 6 and for the pan to be pressurised to maximise the performance of a drain located release valve.

A macerating apparatus for a toilet in which the problem of jamming the macerator at startup is solved by rapidly detecting the flushing of the toilet and accelerating the macerator before motion-jamming solid objects in the effluent from the toilet can reach the macerator. The macerating apparatus may be comprised of a macerating cutter operatively connected to a motor, and a sensor in communication with the motor. The sensor may detect the flow of effluent from the toilet toward the macerator, or other parameters indicative of toilet flushing. The apparatus may include an intake basket having an asymmetric inlet tube and containing the macerating cutter, wherein the asymmetry of the inlet tube provides additional operating clearance between a cutting blade of the macerating cutter and the intake basket. An anti-airlock pump is also disclosed, which may be used in the macerator, or in other pumping applications.

The system is primarily of use in a system wherein the toilets empty into sewage pipe leading to a septic field and avoids the need for frequent reaming of the sewage pipe. In this system, an electrically powered grinder of a size small enough to fit within the sewer pipe is fitted in said pipe at the outlet from the toilet. The grinder is supported in the sewer pipe and sealed in place so that all of the effluent from the toilet passes therethrough. The housing of the grinder has a supporting flange that supports it by being sealed between the bottom flange of the toilet and the sealing gasket on the floor.

The present application is directed to a toilet that allows the separation of solid and liquid waste. This toilet, when activated, releases a retractable urinal that pivots inside the toilet bowl, covering the water visible in the bowl, allowing liquid waste to flow through the retractable urinal through a flexible hose which connects directly to the drain, avoiding the siphon and without the need to apply a discharge of water. In case that a water discharge is wanted to use in the retractable urinal, it is possible, and it is a significantly less amount than that used for solid waste, as it is only the discharge of water necessary to wash the walls of the retractable urinal, and not the 4.2 liters needed to activate the toilet siphon.

External members may have handles. Internal members are disposed inside a pipe and external members are disposed outside a pipe. When an external member is moved, the magnetic force between the internal and external members causes the internal member to move. Internal members can be disposed such that they cause a clog to move further into the drain system. Internal members can also be disposed such that they are below the clog when it forms, allowing the internal members to move the clog out of the pipe system, into the sink, toilet, or other basin. The non-water lavatory flushing device of the invention uses a four-way valve to replace the feces dispersing pipe magnetic valve, feces collecting pipe magnetic valve and urine collecting pipe of the prior art. The dispersed feces liquid and urine in the feces dispersing pipe, feces collecting pipe and urine collecting pipe is controlled by the four-way valve respectively. Then the structure is simplified and the cost is decreased. Furthermore, as the four-way joint is cancelled, the problem of wrong flowing of the leaving liquid is solved. Thus, it could be avoided that the feces plasm flow into flushing liquid collecting box or the limited clean urine is discharged along the feces collecting pipe and this is advantaged to improve the flushing effect.

The mechanism has a perforated cylindrical basket and a cutting device for the dilaceration of material. It is mounted at the rear of the toilet bowl. The baskets have openings (6) in sections running around the walls of the basket called perforated crowns (C). The rings of openings are not contiguous and are separated by a small distance (h) which is about half the height of an opening (6). The rings of openings are staggered. The openings are elongated and are longer vertically than horizontally forming an oblong shape. The upper edge of the basket is closed by a cover. The cutting device consists of a blade (37) supported by a hub (7). The blades (30) are arranged around the hub. The knife is fixed to the upper edge of the hub and the blades extend from the lower edge of the side wall of the hub. The blades are placed diametrically opposite each and the sections forming the blades are shaped like a wide angled cone.

The flushing toilet bowl is connected to a comminuting device which has an electric motor driven rotating paddle system. The outlet of the toilet bowl is directly connected to the inlet of the comminuting device which forms a syphon together with the outflow pipe. The lower part of the toilet bowl is formed as a knee fitting and this section is flanged to the inlet of the homogeniser. The water flushing system can be actuated by a timing device controlled solenoid valve and the solenoid valve is actuated by a control system independently of the electric motor used for pumping and homogenisation. This arrangement reduces water consumption and it is readily produced. The bowl design is simplified and its outflow opening size is reduced.

A water control tubular portion is fixed to the forward end of a discharge hose body. The water control tubular portion is a tubular body or an inverted funnel-like (trumpet-like) tubular body and has water control sections inside it. The water control sections are arranged zigzag so that the amount of discharge of an object (e.g. sewage) becomes as constant as possible and the speed of the discharge can be made slackened. Since the amount of discharge of the object from the forward end of the discharge hose body becomes substantially constant by the water control tubular section and the speed (flow speed) of the discharge is slackened, the forward end of the discharge hose is not fluttered by the pressure of a fluid object (sewage) sent under pressure from a simple toilet device.

A toilet system providing improved convenience, efficiency and sanitation with automatic operation. Basically, the toilet includes a bowl, a seat partially covering the bowl opening and a lid movable between a raised position exposing the seat and a lower position covering the seat and sealing the bowl. When the lid is raised, an air extraction system removes air and odors from the bowl. After use, the lid is either manually or automatically closed, initiating a high or low flush. When left to close automatically a low flush only is initiated. In a low flush, water is directed under pressure through two rotating spray jets against the bowl interior, then is removed along with any toilet contents by the rotating jets action and the macerator which reduces solids to small particles. Heated air is then directed into the bowl to dry the bowl. In a high flush, an additional spray jet cleans the seat and a larger quantity (typically 1/3 additional) of water is used. The water saver design eliminates the need for drain openings under the bowl rim. The macerator is mounted at an angle below horizontal line and secured to a bowl tapered receiving area. The bowl interior remains free of any standing water.
