Запирающий элемент содержит зону изгиба, в которой зона изгиба содержит первую поверхность, граничащую с защелкой, и вторую поверхность, граничащую с крепежным участком. A joint for connecting two adjacent flooring panels together in a substantially vertical manner includes a rotatable locking member made of plastic, metal o r another resilient material. The rotatable locking member is located within a groove or opening of one flooring panel and the second flooring panel has a tongue shaped to mate with the rotatable locking member. Upon installation, the rotatable member rotates an d locks around the back of the tongue via a groove above the tongue. The rotatable locking member includes a resilient arm which is bent away from its initial rest position upon installation, so that when the rotatable locking member locks onto the tongu e, the resilient arm is bent providing a biasing force which holds the panel securely in position.

The system has a locking element comprising short and long brackets for locking structural panels (1, 2) that are provided with respective side edges (I, II) connected by a vertical joining movement. Horizontal locking of the panels takes place by profiles formed at the respective edges. The profile at one of the edges has a downwardly-projecting section (28) that acts together with a projection (4). The edge has a groove (10) to accommodate the short bracket, and another groove is formed at another edge. An extension is formed at the long bracket and anchored into the latter groove. Set of floor panels for forming a floor covering, which comprises at least two floor panels (1A-1B), which each comprise an edge (2-3) provided with a coupling part (4-5), wherein the coupling parts (4-5) are configured such that they allow realizing a coupled condition between the floor panels (1A-1B), by means of a substantially straight-lined coupling movement (M) of the one floor panel (1A) in respect to the other floor panel (1B), according to a direction substantially perpendicular to an installation plane; and wherein the coupling parts (4-5) are configured such that they, in the coupled condition, realize a tensioning force pressing the coupled edges (2- 3) towards each other.

A flooring material and a rotational body used therewith stably provide fastening forces in the horizontal and vertical directions when flooring panels are assembled with each other. A flooring material formed by assembling a plurality of flooring panels together comprises: a recessed part which is formed at one end of a flooring panel; a tongue part which is formed so as to assemble in the recessed part at one end of another flooring panel; an accommodating recess which is formed in the recessed part; and a rotational body which Is accommodated so as to be able to rotate in the accommodating recess and secures the tongue part by being rotated in one direction when the tongue part is assembled in the recessed part, and releases the tongue part from the secured state by being rotated in the opposite direction when the tongue part is separated from the recessed part.

A joint (1) having a first edge (2) and a second edge (3), the first edge (2) being provided with a distal edge (21) and a downwards protruding heel (22). The distal edge (21) is further provided with an upper joint edge (25) beneath which a groove (23) is arranged. The second edge (3) is provided with lower cheek (31) having a distal end (32) at which an upwards protruding lower cheek heel (33) is arranged. The second edge (3) is further provided with an upper joining edge (35) beneath which an undercut (34) is arranged. A moveable locking element (40) is arranged in the space created by the undercut (34). The moveable locking element (40) have a locking tongue (41), a locking tongue leg (42) and a manoeuvring leg (43).

A device for connecting and locking two building boards, in particular floor panels, on their longitudinal sides and/or transverse sides in the horizontal and vertical direction through an essentially vertical joining movement. The building boards have a top side and an underside. On their lateral edges to be connected to one another are provided with profiles corresponding to one another. A locking element with a locking projection is provided in the profile of the first building board. The locking projection interacts with a locking depression provided in the profile of the second building board such that the two building boards are automatically locked in the vertical direction with the joining movement. The locking element is embodied in an essentially rigid manner and the locking projection can be brought into the locking depression through a rotary motion of the locking element.

A set of floor panels is provided with a locking system. The locking system includes a separate flexible tongue integrated with an edge of a floor panel for connecting the edge vertically to an adjacent edge of a similar panel along a joint. At least a part of the flexible tongue is configured to be displaced substantially horizontally and substantially in one direction only from an initial position to a final outer locked position. A joint for connecting two adjacent flooring panels together in a substantially vertical manner includes a rotatable locking member (10) made of plastic, metal or another resilient material. The rotatable locking member is located within a groove (36) or opening of one flooring panel (12) and the second flooring panel (14) has a tongue (48) shaped to mate with the rotatable locking member. Upon installation, the rotatable member rotates and locks around the back of the tongue via a groove above the tongue. The rotatable locking member includes a resilient arm (24), which is bent away from its initial rest position upon installation, so that when the rotatable locking member locks onto the tongue, the resilient arm is bent providing a biasing force, which holds the panel securely in position.

The invention relates to a device for connecting and locking two building boards, in particular floor panels, on their longitudinal sides and/or transverse sides in the horizontal and vertical direction through an essentially vertical joining movement. The building boards have a top side and an underside. On their lateral edges (I, II) to be connected to one another are provided with profiles corresponding to one another, and a locking element is provided in the profile of the first building board, which locking element has an inner end and an outer end and is inserted with the inner end in a groove of the first building board, and which interacts with a locking depression provided in the profile of the second building board such that the two building boards are automatically locked in the vertical direction with the joining movement.
