In operation, hinged members that are part of the frame are used to support a first portion and then a second portion of the shelter. Before the frame is raised up, the people who are constructing it can easily reach the top parts of the shelter without a stepladder or the like. By avoiding the need for a stepladder, the overall size and weight of the assembled components that have to be transported to the remote location can be reduced, and the shelter can be constructed more quickly and easily. Hinges, purlin connections, and corner closure systems for the shelter are also disclosed.

A shelter for an automobile has a pair of tracks positioned on opposing sides of the automobile and rest on a supporting surface such as the floor of a garage or car-port. A plurality of frames each having a u-shaped contour extend on opposing sides and over the automobile and are spaced apart from it. The terminal ends the frames are engaged with trucks which are in rolling engagement with the tracks. A canopy of a flexible material is attached over the frames and is movable between a folded state and an unfolded state when the trucks are moved within the tracks. The tracks have mutually orthogonal roller contact surfaces and the trucks have mutually orthogonal rollers positioned for rolling on the roller contact surfaces of said tracks. The canopy is able to be withdrawn from either of opposing sides and is further able to be drawn over the automobile to the supporting surface at both opposing sides.

The present invention extends to a double canopy covered wagon. Interior canopy frame supports support an interior canopy over a portion of a wagon flooring surface and under larger exterior canopy frame supports. The exterior canopy frame supports support an exterior canopy over the interior canopy. Including interior and exteriors canopies increases insulation relative to a single canopy. Further, since the exterior canopy frame supports are larger than the interior canopy frame supports, air can flow between the interior and exterior canopies. Air flow between the canopies in combination with increased insulation facilitates more effective climate control inside a wagon.

A method and apparatus for constructing a blind structure, such as a hunting blind. Two or more hub structures are formed, each with a hub and at least one and preferably four rods or support arms. The two hub structures are connected together. An expandable joint, such as an extension rod or extension arm, is positioned and connected so that each hub structure forces a hub to contact a corresponding panel. It is possible to force the panel into a concave orientation, such as in an outward direction from an interior to an outside of the blind structure.

A portable construction tent is provided. The portable construction tent is especially suitable for use in inclement weather conditions. In particular, the portable construction tent is especially suitable for use on a building when construction or repair is being done to the roof of the building. The portable tent unfolds, is adjusted for size, and then is secured to the parapet walls of the roof and finally is locked into place. A discard-able, recycle-able wrap is draped over support poles of the tent and is secured. In an embodiment, the wrap may be a low-density polyethylene film or cellophane. Further, in an embodiment, the wrap may be heat shrunk around the poles (which may be steel rafters), which are bolted to the parapet walls. Once in place, the portable construction tent allows workers to work on the roof of a building in almost any weather condition.
