A structure which is transformable by inflation from a collapsed condition for storage to an erect condition for use has an inflatable tubular framework and at least one flexible web attached to and extending between two or more regions of the framework. The inflatable framework is formed by at least one inner inflatable tubular element (A, B) of flexible, elastic, air-impermeable material and having an inflation valve ( 13,15 ) accommodated within an outer sleeve arrangement of a material which is flexible but substantially non-elastic and restrained therein upon inflation. The outer sleeve arrangement is configured to include at least one branch point and/or at least one abrupt bend and the configuration of the inner tubular element or elements (A, B) corresponds to that (branch points (a, b) and abrupt bends (z)) so that the inner tube or tubes will substantially fill the outer sleeve arrangement upon inflation. Each inner tube (A, B) is formed by cutting and bonding of the air-impermeable material to provide a continuous inflatable compartment of relevant configuration and is inserted through an opening in the outer sleeve arrangement and fed through so as to fill it when later inflated in use.

The detailed principle, structure, manufacture and designing method of a retractable roof for large stadiums or other huge spaces are established. This roof is formed by using a number of connected and paralleled inflatable arc shaped tubes (called “air beams”) made of soft material (membrane). Using successive inflation to the tubes can realize deploying of the roof, and using successive deflation of tubes can realize retraction of the roof. All these processes can be completed by an automatically controlled program. A rigorous mathematics derivation and mechanics proof show that, the retractable air beam roof with durable membrane of ordinary durability can have a large span of over 100 meters, and can withstand in a regularly extreme (critical) weather (heavy wind, rain, snow and hail). The interior hangers are used when packing, storing, and transporting the user's garments. The exterior collapsible and removable rack is employed when the bag is used at an event/competition. This hanging system is an improvement over existing dance bags in two distinct ways: the upright bag design with the interior hangers allows the user to effectively fit, store, and organize their garments while existing bags lack the interior storage and hanging system; and the present bag provides a collapsible and removable rack that is easily set up and inserted into the bag's exterior holders for holding the garments external to the bag when at an event/competition. Existing dance bags with similar racks require a more difficult assembly and the bag must lie horizontal rather than upright.

A tent is designed for use in the air, connected at its vertices to trees or the like. The tent is further designed with enough support from an independent support structure to create a shelter there-in while in the air or on the ground. Further, the tent is built atop a floating mat or base. In order to provide enough strength to the base that it can be used to float the entire tent or hold the tent airborne, straps extend from each vertex of the mat through a central portal and connect back to themselves. From these straps, loops are further created to attach the tent, by way of the loops, to trees while the entirety of the mat is buoyant enough to hold the tent and people there-in afloat.

A collapsible shelter of the umbrella-tent type including a foldable frame and a cover of sheet material affixed to the frame. The frame comprises a plurality of support members having mutually respective ends pivotally connected to a central hub. The central hub is mounted on elongate erecting guide means located at the apex of the frame. A second hub is mounted on the guide means below the central hub, and a plurality of rib members are pivotally connected at mutually respective ends to the second hub, with the other ends of the rib members being pivotally connected to corresponding, respective support members, so that when the shelter is in its erected form, the support members extend outwardly and downwardly from the central hub, the second hub is positioned adjacent or proximate to the central hub, the rib members extend substantially radially outwardly from the erecting guide, and the cover is held tautly affixed to the frame. Means are provided for releasably connecting and holding the second hub and the central hub together as a rigid unit to avoid untimely collapse of the shelter by inadvertent, undesired, downward movement of the second hub away from the central hub. The shelter can be collapsed, when desired, by disengaging the second hub from the central hub and moving the second hub downwardly away from the first hub. When the shelter is collapsed, the support members extend downwardly as a bundle from the central hub, the ribs are folded to positions substantially within the bundle of collapsed support members, and the cover is loosely affixed to the frame. In a preferred embodiment, the support members are segmented and can be folded upon themselves to greatly shorten the length of the collapsed bundle thereof.
