An improved forced entry resistant sash lock comprises a housing, a shaft rotatably mounted thereto, a locking cam and a delay cam rotatably and fixedly mounted to the shaft, respectively, and a locking spring. The delay cam selectively engages and drives the locking cam between a locked position and an unlocked position. Locking spring biasing causes engagement with a locking earn opening to lock the cam when in the latch-locked position, with engagement to a depth permitting releasable detent engagement in a delay cam recess. Selective engagement and driving of the locking cam comprises a first portion of delay cam rotation being without driven locking cam rotation, and a second portion causing driven locking cam rotation from a retracted position into a protruding position. Selective engagement is by contact between corresponding protrusions on the delay and locking cams. Shaft/delay cam counter-rotation to unlock the latch proceeds in a reverse manner.

This invention relates to a canopy locking and releasing apparatus for mounting a canopy to the fuselage of a vehicle. The canopy locking and releasing apparatus is comprised of several mechanisms. These include internal canopy locking and releasing mechanism, the external (Type A, B, or C) canopy locking and releasing mechanisms, a hinge plate and base mechanism, a hinge retaining pin, and a fuselage locking and releasing device for the hinge base. The apparatus is mounted on the sides of a canopy and attached to the cockpit of a vehicle. This apparatus allows for quick and easy opening of the canopy for routine or emergent access and driver entry or egress. An unique advantage of the canopy side mount locking and releasing hinge mechanism for vehicles is that the cockpit is easily accessible from either side of the vehicle, from the inside and outside of the vehicle, or if necessary, from both sides of the vehicle at once. Additionally, there is shown an alternative use for the internal locking and releasing mechanism and the retaining pin. 2. There is disclosed a dead-latching slam bolt lock that includes a rotating dead-latching slam bolt which prevents attempts at breaking in without actuating the lock mechanism. A tongue or toggle acted on by the door jamb engages the bolt and initiates rotation thereof in the door closing direction, but is passive in the opening direction. The locking mechanism may be manual or electronic, and controls the position of a blocking element which alternately prevents and permits unlocking (rotation) of the rotating bolt. In a forward or blocking position, the blocking element prevents rotation of the bolt from a locked position, while in a retracted position the blocking element permits rotation of the bolt to an unlocked position. A spring detent plunger holds the rotating bolt in either its locked or unlocked positions. 1. The invention relates to locking devices, more particularly, gravity actuated locking devices, e.g., for waste containers. The locking device is designed to be fixed to a container and contains a gravity operated locking mechanism and a locking unit that couples the gravity operated locking mechanism to a locking bar. The locking bar allows the lid of the container to be blocked or opened depending upon the relative position of the locking bar to the lid. In the blocked position, the locking bar sits over the lid and does not allow it to be opened. In the opened position, the locking bar is removed from the lid and allows the lid to be opened. When in the container is in the upright position, the parts of the locking device cooperate to block the locking bar from being moved from the blocked position. However, when the container is tilted forward, e.g. for emptying the content of the container, gravity, acting on the parts of the locking device, allows the locking bar to be moved to the opened position. 1. The mechanism functions as a deadlock since attempts to push the bolt tip away from the locked position urges the balls into the groove. Preferably the bolt is spring loaded into the locked position and opened electromechanically.

With the aim of significantly reducing the power consumption of electronic locks, designs linked by a general concept are proposed, in which the lock comprises a power assembly intended for the mechanical engagement of power elements of the lock; a means for locking the above-mentioned power assembly, which means is intended for adjusting the power assembly elements into a locked or unlocked position; a means for securing the positions of the above-mentioned locking means; an electromechanical means controlling displacement of the elements of the securing means upon commands from the electronic means for controlling the lock, wherein, in order to reduce power consumption by the electromechanical means, the locking means is displaced in the lock only with the aid of mechanical forces applied thereto by a user and/or by elements of the lock kinematically linked thereto, and the transition from locking to unlocking of the power assembly of the lock is achieved via an intermediate position of the locking means, in which the means for securing the positions of the locking means is relieved of the power load placed thereon by the locking means and, in said intermediate position, the electromechanical means displaces the unloaded securing means. The invention is especially effective for use in compact and energy-independent electronic locks having stringent requirements for minimal power consumption.

Une partie tubulaire 12 d'axe vertical présente dans sa partie médiane une gorge 15 en forme de " V ", les gorges 15, 26 ayant même profondeur. Les billes 36 du moyen de blocage, se trouvant en position verrouillée dans la gorge 15, bloquent le mouvement du coulisseau 10 vers le haut par l'action de la butée fixe 31 et du cylindre 25 maintenu en position basse par l'électro-aimant 22. En position déverrouillée dans les deux gorges 15, 26, elles permettent au coulisseau 10 de coulisser vers le haut, le cylindre 25 étant maintenu en position basse.

A small carbon dioxide container is mounted within the latch and is spring loaded with a detent arranged for actuation from within the home which is being protected. When the detent is released, a spring-loaded plunger punctures the carbon dioxide container, and a ramped latching plunger is moved to release the locking ball bearings, and then the iron grating or barrier is then vigorously swung open by the pneumatic pressure from the punctured container.
