A butt hinge has a body (10) with first and second spaced mounts (14, 15). A flag has a barrel (19) fitting between the mounts (14, 15) with a pin (20) extending though and being fixed to the barrel (19) with each end of the pin (20) being received in a respective mount (14, 15). In this way, the flag (11) is mounted on the body (10) for pivotal movement relative to the body (10) about the pin axis. The flag is vertically adjustable by means such as a grub screw (25) acting on the pin (20). Interposed between the pin (20) and the grub screw (25) is a non-rotatable member (27) which prevents rotation of the pin (20) being transmitted to grub screw (25). The flag may be horizontally adjustable by a screw-cam (36, 38) in each mount moving the pin eccentrically. A flange (40) is resiliently biased away from the flag barrel (19) to maintain contact with mount (15) during adjustment.

A dampened hinge assembly has a male leaf and a female leaf. The female leaf has spaced apart first and second end barrels coaxially rotating with respect to a central barrel of the male leaf therebetween. An axial shaft is fixed to the second end barrel of the female leaf at a proximal end of the axial shaft. The axial shaft has a distal helicoidally threaded spindle. A compression gear having a helicoidally threaded bore matching the helicoidal thread of the spindle displaces towards the first end barrel when the leaves move into alignment and towards the second end barrel when the leaves move out of alignment. Two-leaf hinge wherein a smaller leaf (16) is functionally receivable coplanar within a cut-out area of a larger leaf (12) of equal thickness. Both leaves are held together by hinge pin (26) traversing corresponding longitudinally aligned, bearing tube segments (20, 22, 24) and held engaged in tube by conic neck (28), the latter thus being insertable from either end of composite tube. The usual visual gap or crack between door and door jamb is thus limited to maximum thickness of one leaf. If pair of nested leaves alternately is inset along either the door or door jamb, the width of such crack disappears, thus producing a virtually invisible door mounting, which door also cannot be pushed open merely by withdrawing the hinge pin. In addition, a pair of tangentially projecting abutment lugs (30, 32) serve to locate one connected structure (e.g., door D) with the other (e.g. door jamb C).

A hinge has a pair of leaves, one of which has a spaced pair of knuckles and the other hag a central knuckle disposed therebetween. A dampened hinge assembly has a male leaf and a female leaf. The female leaf has spaced apart first and second end barrels coaxially rotating with respect to a central barrel of the male leaf therebetween. An axial shaft is fixed to the second end barrel of the female leaf at a proximal end of the axial shaft. The axial shaft has a distal helicoidally threaded spindle. A compression gear having a helicoidally threaded bore matching the helicoidal thread of the spindle displaces towards the first end barrel when the leaves move into alignment and towards the second end barrel when the leaves move out of alignment. Systems and methods of co-printing a unitary hinge are provided. The unitary hinge may be co-printed using an additive manufacturing process. The unitary hinge includes a hinge pin that is substantially cylindrical in shape. The unitary hinge also includes a knuckle which surrounds a portion of the hinge pin and is configured to be manipulated about the hinge pin. The hinge pin is fabricated in situ with the knuckle such that further assembly is unnecessary. The unitary hinge may also include retention mechanism to retain the hinge within the knuckle without substantially restricting the knuckle from being rotated about the hinge pin.
