Hinge has an opening angle exceeding 135 degrees and one end is fastened on a furniture wall and other end is held on a part sunk into a door panel. The cup shaped inserted housing carries hinge lever with pivots. Each hinge part has at least two pivot points and hinge parts are connected to form two four bar linkages. It has short levers which are not subject to compressive forces in closed position and this ensures stability. All levers (3, 4, 5, 6) are in the form of flat lamella arranged in pairs and connected to each other by pivot elements and spacers. A leaf spring (18) is held at one end (18a) on the wall holder (1) by a sleeve (17). The free end of the spring is fastened on the inserted cup. A roller is arranged to act in conjunction with the freely sprung arm of the leaf spring (18).

The wide angle hinge is used for doors on refrigerators, washing machines or other kitchen equipment. On each of two arms, hinged together and intersecting scissors-fashion, one end is connected to interfacing ends of a support walling stop piece and a door stop piece, and the other, swivelling, ends are hinged, via levers, to the outward-facing ends of these pieces. The support wall stop piece (6) and door stop piece (10) are in the form of flat housing-type pieces. Each has at least one narrow open side, containing hinge bolts supporting wider sidewalls parallel to the swivel plane of the hinge arms (12,13) and levers (14). These broader sides may have mutually aligned holes and/or slots for fixing screws.
