VEHICLE DOOR HINGE

A vehicle hinge assembly (10) for hanging a vehicle door on a vehicle body. The assembly (10) comprises a first hinge leaf (12) hingedly connected to a second hinge leaf (14) by a pivot pin (15). The pivot pin (15) is immovably mounted in one hinge leaf (14) and is rotatably mounted in, and axially withdrawable from, the other hinge leaf (12). Hinge pin retention means (35) is associated with the other hinge leaf (12) for preventing axial withdrawal of the hinge pin (15) therefrom. The hinge gin retention means (35) having hinge pin engagement means (38) movably mounted between first and second positions. The engagement means (38) in its first position engages with the hinge pin (15) to permit rotation of the hinge pin (15) but prevent its axial movement relative to the other hinge leaf (12). The engagement means (38) in its second position is spaced from the hinge pin (15) to permit its axial withdrawal from the other hinge leaf (12).

Bei einem Scharnier mit mehreren Scharnierteilen (1, 2, 3) ist je eine Verbindungswelle (5, 6) im unteren und im oberen Scharnierteil (1, 2) angeordnet, welche je in eine Öffnung (4) des mittleren Scharnierteils (3) hineinragt. Der mittlere Scharnierteil (3) liegt über einem Axiallager (7) auf der unteren Verbindungswelle (5) auf und befindet sich dabei in einem Abstand (b) oberhalb des unteren Scharnierteils (1) und auch in einem Abstand (c) unterhalb des oberen Scharnierteils (2). Durch axiale Verstellung der unteren Verbindungswelle (5) im unteren Scharnierteil (1) sind die Abstände (b, c) des mittleren Scharnierteils (3) vom unteren und vom oberen Scharnierteil (1, 2) veränderbar. Dadurch ist der mit dem mittleren Scharnierteil (3) verbundene Teil, insbesondere die Tür, im montierten Zustand des Scharniers in einem bestimmten Bereich höhenverstellbar.

This invention relates to a canopy locking and releasing apparatus for mounting a canopy to the fuselage of a vehicle. The canopy locking and releasing apparatus is comprised of several mechanisms. These include internal canopy locking and releasing mechanism, the external (Type A, B, or C) canopy locking and releasing mechanisms, a hinge plate and base mechanism, a hinge retaining pin, and a fuselage locking and releasing device for the hinge base. The apparatus is mounted on the sides of a canopy and attached to the cockpit of a vehicle. This apparatus allows for quick and easy opening of the canopy for routine or emergent access and driver entry or egress. An unique advantage of the canopy side mount locking and releasing hinge mechanism for vehicles is that the cockpit is easily accessible from either side of the vehicle, from the inside and outside of the vehicle, or if necessary, from both sides of the vehicle at once. A pin can be retained in a hinge or other set of workpieces by a ferrule crimped onto an annular notch near the terminus of the pin. The ferrule can have a flange that acts as a stop preventing the pin from being removed from the workpieces. With appropriate length of the ferrule and location of the notch, a particular desired degree of play can be introduced. One use of this fastener assembly can be to join two or more workpieces in a way that provides for the workpieces to pivot around the pin. 1. A hinge construction includes a hinge bracket that includes a hinge pin supporting plate and at least one opening extending through the hinge pin supporting plate. Also included in the hinge construction is a hinge pin that is held at the at least one opening. The hinge pin includes a hinge pin outer surface, a hinge pin bore extending through the entire length of the hinge pin and a hinge pin slot extending along the entire length of the hinge pin from the hinge pin outer surface to within the hinge pin bore.
