The head unit includes a fire-resistant container that contains the first circuit board. This permits the electrical components of the head unit that utilize higher voltage, such as 120 volts, to be provided on the first circuit board and contained in the fire-resistant container. The head unit further includes a second circuit board outside of the fire-resistant container and operably coupled to the first circuit board. Because the second circuit board is outside of the fire-resistant container, the second circuit board may contain electrical components of the head unit that operate at lower voltages, such as at or below 24 volts.

TAPE DRIVE CLOSURE OPERATOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A closure operator such as a garage door oper-ator utilizes an apertured flexible tape. The tape is enclosed in a guide and a drive sprocket has teeth engag-ing the apertures to apply both tension and compression forces to open and close a door. The apertures are en-larged in width and length and the tape has fewer aper-tures per-unit-length compared to the prior art tape. This decreases the stress per-unit-area in the tape at each tooth and increases the shear strength of the webs between successive apertures to be more nearly equal to the tensile strength of the tension band areas of the tape. The foregoing abstract is merely a resume of one general application, is not a complete discussion of all principles of operation or applications, and is not to be construed as a limitation on the scope of the claimed subject matter.

The head unit includes a fire-resistant container that contains the first circuit board. This permits the electrical components of the head unit that utilize higher voltage, such as 120 volts, to be provided on the first circuit board and contained in the fire-resistant container. The head unit further includes a second circuit board outside of the fire-resistant container and operably coupled to the first circuit board. Because the second circuit board is outside of the fire-resistant container, the second circuit board may contain electrical components of the head unit that operate at lower voltages, such as at or below 24 volts.

The sliding base includes two chain passages defined in two opposite sides thereof. A pawl is retractably mounted in the sliding base and partially extends into the first chain passage. A connection block is attached to a chain and is driven by the drive device. The connection block includes a cavity defined to receive the pawl in the first chain passage. Then the sliding base can be moved to pull and open the door because a linkage is connected between the sliding base and the door. The pawl is moved down from the cavity of the connection block when the cable is pulled. Consequently, the sliding base can be manually moved to open the door when there is a power failure.

In order to simplify the installation and maintenance of said device, increase the service life thereof, reduce production costs and installation costs and to avoid the negative consequences of assembly errors, a power converter (1,9) is arranged on the wing (3) for the supply of power to the moveable second unit (5 - 10, 16), said power converter being used to convert preferably non-electrical power applied to the wing (3) in a wireless manner, especially mechanical energy and/or radiation energy; into electrical energy such as electrical current and/or voltage, and a transmitter-receiver system (17) for wireless connection of both units (12, 13; 5 - 10, 16) is provided. The invention also relates to a drive device and a control device for a motor-driven moveable closure device for a building or enclosure.

A flexible connection i.e. chain (5), transmits the power between a gear motor and the carriage. A garage door opener security system, for preventing the unauthorized opening of a garage door, mounted within a dwelling. The garage door opener has a track mounted to the dwelling, and a truck slidably mounted on the track which is operatively engaged with the door. A release lever extends downward from the truck to allow manual release and opening of the garage door. The security system prevents unauthorized operation of the release lever by providing a pair of security plates which extend downward from the truck on either side of the release lever. The security plates thereby prevent an unauthorized person from extending an object into the garage from outside in an attempt at operating the release lever.

The door is driven by an electric servo motor (9) fitted to one end of a slim rectangular housing (1) which also contains the back-up batteries (11), the control circuit (10) and the power connections (12,13). The housing has a U-shaped cover and a flat base and is fitted in a vertical position to one side of the door opening or in a horizontal position on the upper support frame for an up and over door. The servo motor drives the door via a flexible belt or via a simple rack and pinion drive. A reduction gearing is included in the drive. The electric supply is via a socket and the unit is fitted with external controls and, if required, a remote control. The batteries provide failsafe operation in a power failure.
