Therefore, the coated section 61 plastically deforms along the entire length in the axial direction of the teeth causing compressive strain to occur. By causing the male shaft 16 A to slide back-and-forth with respect to the female shaft 16 B in this state, the grooves 41 of the female shaft 16 B and the teeth 51 of the male shaft 16 A are uniformly in contact along the entire length in the axial direction, and thus sliding friction becomes constant along the entire length of the sliding range.

The present invention relates to a flywheel apparatus for energy storage and recovery including a flywheel system coupled to a flywheel drive system. The flywheel system includes a housing with a chamber in which a flywheel on a shaft rotates. The shaft is mounted on the housing via at least one damper which may allow but constrain and/or damp movement of the flywheel and shaft relative to the housing. The flywheel system has a flywheel lubrication system. The flywheel drive system may have a different type of fluid from the flywheel system. The two fluids may be kept separate by a sealing arrangement. Movement of the flywheel shaft relative to the housing is accommodated by a link member which allows the flywheel shaft to move relative to the housing. The link member also prevents the sealing arrangement from becoming damaged or becoming ineffective, and may also act as a mechanical fuse.

The articulated shaft has an axial securing means which includes a securing ring which has a spring prestress and acts on the articulated shaft via a connecting device of the articulated shaft to a housing cover of a joint housing. It is provided, in particular, that the housing cover is made of aluminum, on which a bearing disk made from steel lies which supports the prestressed securing ring on the outer side. This arrangement avoids it being possible for the securing ring to bury itself into the housing cover made from aluminum and a greater play being produced and the axial securing action no longer being ensured. 1. A track deviation sensing mechanism for a steering column , comprising:a sleeve comprising an inner wall and an outer wall defining an annular opening, the inner wall defining a plurality of internal splines and the sleeve receiving the steering column;a sensor comprising a first axial opening;a ring disposed within the first axial opening, the ring defining a second axial opening for accommodating the sleeve;a first part functionally disposed between the sleeve and the ring, the first part lockingly connected to the sleeve and the ring, wherein the first part comprises a third axial opening; anda second part locking the sensor and the first part at a prerequisite configuration, the second part comprising a fourth axial opening;wherein, the first axial opening, the second axial opening, the third axial opening, the fourth axial opening and the annular opening are coaxial.2.
