A slideable seal 101 maybe used to join flue pipes. The slideable seal 101 has seal ridges 110, 130 for respectively sealing against the exterior of an inner pipe 110 and an outer pipe 111. The inner pipe 110 may be telescopically received within the outer pipe 111, thus allowing the length of the flue pipe to be adjusted to suit an installation. Preferably, a shoulder 200 is provided as an end stop for the outer pipe 111 and preferably also to align the inner pipe 110 concentrically with the outer pipe 111. Preferably, locating projections 210 are provided for projecting into corresponding holes 211 in the outer pipe 111, thereby securing the slideable seal 101 to the outer pipe. Preferably, an o-ring 220 is placed around the locating projections 210. The o-ring 220 urges the locating projections 210 into the holes 211 in the outer pipe. The slideable seal 101 may be injection moulded from EPDM rubber.

The compound may be anhydrous calcium sulphate, anhydrous magnesium sulphate, calcite, or Keene's cement and the coating may be prepared by mixing the compound or compounds with a liquid medium consisting of graphite suspended in white spirit. The body of the gasket, which is made of compressed asbestos-fibre bonded with rubber or a synthetic plaster, is dried to render it free from moisture before the coating is applied. The edges of apertures in the gasket may be protected by thin copper strip.

This yields a high leak tightness of the sealing at a relatively low force.

The two unfilled sheets each constitute from 20% to 25% of the overall thickness of the gasket material. This method provides a unitary gasket assembly having an overall compressibility of 45% or more, but the thicker unfilled PTFE central area of the assembly provides excellent recovery characteristics and resistance to creep relaxation.

A high temperature secondary seal between a rotating seal face adaptor sleeve and a rotating shaft does not consume additional axial space beyond the axial space occupied by the secondary seal. The seal includes a single ring drive collar comprising a plurality of radial directed bolts in tapped holes. As the bolts are tightened they enter a cylindrical cavity in the drive collar and impact therein a sloped surface of a crush ring. The vertical force thereby applied to the crush ring displaces the crush ring axially into a secondary graphite sealing element, thereby crushing the secondary sealing element against the adaptor sleeve and shaft, and forming a seal there between. The crush ring sloped surface can terminate in a vertical face, so that upon sufficient displacement of the crush ring the bolts abut the vertical face and impact the shaft, fixing the drive collar to the shaft.

The supporting lip connecting end is connected to an outer periphery of a lower portion of the collar, the supporting lip has at least one supporting lip recess, of which, extends from the supporting lip connecting end to the supporting end, and is aligned with the at least one collar recess. The sealing lip connecting end is connected to an upper portion of the collar. The sealing plug provided in the present application can be easily inserted into the hole in the panel. 1. An envelope gasket features a bonded construction. In one example, a virgin PTFE envelope is bonded to a pair of microcellular or expanded PTFE filler material annular rings. The present disclosure provides a slat end seal for use with a slat of an aircraft. The slat end seal includes a shell having a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a sidewall extending from the first surface. The shell includes a plurality of through holes in the first surface of the shell. The slat end seal also includes a lattice structure coupled to the first surface of the shell and configured to compress in response to a force applied to the second surface of the shell. The lattice structure includes a plurality of supports defining a plurality of interstitial voids between the plurality of supports.
