A housing has a cage with supply fluid ports, vent ports and an outlet port. A pilot actuated hollow spool valve element is telescopically movable in the cage and engages poppet seats at opposite ends of the cage. Elongated supply and vent slots directed transversely to the axis of the cage and valve element provide maximum flow passages. The ends of the spool are in contact with the cage at all times and the axial extent of the contact between the spool and the cage is greater than fifty percent. The spool engages the interior of the cage at the fluid ports and vent ports for reducing flow restrictions. A recess coaxially positioned at each end of the cage receives one of the valve seats. The housing abuts the cage for properly loading the valve seats. A dash pot cushions the valve element. A pilot control stem is connected to the valve element exteriorly of the valve element. A cold and hot water balancing valve structure is provided which can fit common standard specifications. While maintaining the outer diameter and height of the high legged seat of the valve enclosure under existing standard specifications of ceramic valves, the bottom ends of the cold and hot water through holes of the high legged seat are configured with a water inlet pipe set housing groove for fitting an eccentrically positioned assembled water inlet pipe set, which are made up of cold and hot water tubes. When the meshing edges of the tubes are joined together, a balancing valve housing space is defined inside to hold a cold and hot water balancing valve unit. The cold and hot water balancing valve structure fits existing standard ceramic valve specifications, so as to dramatically reduce the production cost of cold-hot balancing valves while realizing the cold and hot water balancing function.

A three-port fluid control valve and a valve assembly using the fluid control valve are provided herein. The valve includes a first inlet, a second inlet, and a sealing element to selectably open one inlet to fluid communication with an outlet and to close the other inlet to fluid communication with the outlet. The valve system includes an actuator, for example a solenoid, to provide accurate and responsive control of the position of the sealing element. 1. The new valve incorporates a poppet or spool that covers one of two ports at one position, and then switches to cover another port at a second position. In each of the two positions, it separates the covered port from a third port, and connects this third port with the uncovered port, and it reverses the connections at the second position. To ensure high speed of response, the poppet or spool has lowest possible mass and consequently inertia, it switches between the two positions in short stroke by the action of an actuator, and returns by the action of the liquid (or the gas in other applications) high pressure that could provide high displacing force, or by a spring, or by both. The high pressure is applied to two nearly equal areas at the two sides of the poppet or spool, and thus two merits are gained: the actuator force should overcome the force of the pressure applied only on a small differential area instead of a large area, and the poppet or spool thicknesses can be reduced to reduce the mass and consequently the inertia. As special case, two ports of the valve can be used instead of three, and the third one can be connected to a high pressure source to be used as pilot pressure for fast returning of the poppet. It could continuously connect or separate between any two ports at both working positions with any pattern of connections. The valve can be used to control pressurized gases in other industrial control applications in the same way it is used in hydraulic control systems, but with materials suitable for the application. 1. A solenoid valve has a housing defining a first axis and second axis, a solenoid which produces a magnetic field along the first axis, a valve shaft movable between a first position and a second position along the second axis, and a manifold mounted to the housing. The valve shaft is biased toward the first position by a spring and mechanical forces sufficient to overcome the force of the spring are transferred from the solenoid to the shaft by a lever to displace the shaft to its second position. A poppet seal affixed to the shaft, which interacts with a portion of the housing to close an outlet port in the housing, and a spool seal, also affixed to the shaft which interacts with a wall of the manifold defining an exhaust port to route fluid to the desired port. An electronic circuit controls delivery of current to the solenoid to shift and hold the shaft in the second position.

In accordance with an embodiment, a diverter is provided that is configured for use in a fluid delivery apparatus. The diverter includes body portion and a channeling structure, wherein the channeling structure extends from the diverter. A fluid pressure adjustment structure is adjacent the channeling structure. In accordance with another embodiment, a method for holding a diverter in position is provided that includes placing the diverter adjacent a fluid channeling structure, wherein a gasket is positioned between the diverter and the fluid channeling structure and wherein the diverter is configured to have a cavity containing a pressure actuated position holding structure. A fluid is directed through the fluid channeling structure towards the pressure actuated position holding structure. The pressure within the cavity is reduced in response to the fluid flowing towards the pressure actuated position holding structure, wherein the reduced pressure helps hold the diverter in position.

A fault-accommodating flow scheduling valve has a first inlet, outlet, and orifice therebetween. The valve has a shuttle valve member on the orifice inlet side, a primary valve member on the orifice outlet side, a compression-loaded primary spring, and first and second compression-loaded balance springs. Below a threshold differential pressure, the primary valve member engages with the outlet-side sealing face to close the valve while the shuttle valve member is spaced from the inlet-side sealing face, and on failure of the primary spring, the primary valve member moves from the outlet-side sealing face but the shuttle valve member closes the valve. Above the threshold differential pressure, the primary valve member opens the valve while the shuttle valve member remains spaced, and on failure of the primary spring, the primary valve member moves further from the outlet-side sealing face but the shuttle valve member closes the valve.
