There is presented a valve comprising a body having a conduit therethrough and a bore therein intersecting the conduit. The valve further comprises a plug for disposition in the body. The plug includes stem, handle, gate and base portions. The gate portion is provided with a hole therethrough and is rotatably movable between a position wherein the hole is in alignment with the conduit and a position wherein the hole is at least in part removed from alignment with the conduit. The valve base portion is provided with leaf springs extending therefrom and having hook portions on free ends thereof. In assembly of the valve, the hook portions are deflected inwardly, when the plug is inserted into the body, by a body shelf portion extending inwardly of the bore. The hook portions are adapted to spring outwardly upon passage of the hook portions over the shelf portion, the hook portions being thereby captured under the shelf portion, such that the plug is prevented from substantial axial movement in the body.

The tap with rotary plug is for an integrated control block, having a passage capable of connecting two others leading to the bore in which it works, also if necessary an additional drilling connecting one of these to a drain. The plug is fixed to a protruding spindle onto which a handle fits. The plug (2) is accommodated in a cage (10), its angular position in the latter being controlled by guides working with a mounting plate (20), which in turn has tops determining its angular position in relation to the bore. Radial holes in the cage align with the passages leading into the bore but are of larger diameter, and accommodate sealing rings (16, 17) bearing against the plug and the wall of the bore and mounted in arched grooved rings curved to match the radius of the cage.

When control handle is rotated in a first direction around an axis along which the valve cartridge extends the valve cartridge is opened allowing flow from supply line to return line, and when the valve cartridge is rotated around the axis in an opposing direction the valve cartridge is closed.

A closure element for a fluid end assembly that has two or more recessed grooves formed in its outer surface. The grooves are axially offset. A seal is placed in one and only one of the grooves. As wear occurs, the seal is relocated to one of the other grooves. Instead of a series of axially offset grooves in a single closure element, a kit may be formed from two or more otherwise identical closure elements, each with a single recessed groove at a different axial position. Another closure element has a series of ledge-like surfaces defining spaces within which a seal may be received. One outer surface surrounds one or more of the other surfaces. A seal is placed in one and only one of the spaces. As wear occurs, the seal is relocated to one of the other spaces.
