A hinged clamp provides quick connection and disconnection of sections of fluid tubing. Some embodiments include a spring-loaded catch mechanism that enables the clamp to be loosely latched, and a winding mechanism that can retract the catch to a securely latched condition. Other embodiments provide a hinged shaft that pivots about an end of the upper clamp ring. A middle section of the shaft can be inserted into a slotted opening in the lower clamp ring, and the winding mechanism can move an engagement surface against the lower clamp ring to securely latch the clamp. An adjustment mechanism is included in these embodiments which can adjust the amount of winding required to engage the clamp. In various embodiments, less than one turn or less than one-half turn is required to engage/disengage the clamp. The clamp can be openable only just enough for insertion of flanged ends of the tubing sections.

The channel is further preferably convertible from the first configuration to the second configuration in the presence of a minimum amount of sealant material.

A process for treating a pin having an external threaded portion and a box having an internal threaded portion wherein the process provides a threadable joint having a high galling resistance. One embodiment of the present invention includes applying a lubricant on the threaded portion of at least one of the pin and box. The threadable joint is made up by threadably engaging the threaded portions of the pin and box to a recommended torque according to the American Petroleum Institute and then breaking out the threaded joint. The making up and breaking out step with lubricant applied on the threaded portion of at least one of the pin and box is performed a plurality of times. A method for forming a field joint between pipe sections is provided, preferably for pre-insulated pipe sections containing a carrier pipe surrounded by insulation and an outer jacket. The carrier pipes are joined, and an air tube is positioned so that its first end is within the joint area, and its second end extends beyond the joint area. A sleeve is sealed over the joint area, joining the jackets, with the sleeve positioned to cover the first end but not the second end of the tube. Air is injected into the tube to pressurize the cavity within the jacket, and the tube bore is sealed to allow air pressure testing. If the testing shows no loss of air pressure, the bore of the tube is sealed permanently to complete the seal on the field joint. Also provided is a piping system having a field joint formed by this method.

A fluid transport and distribution manifold comprising:a support;a first plurality of parallel fluid conduits passing through the support; anda second plurality of parallel fluid conduits passing through the support perpendicular to, and interwoven with, the first fluid conduits, at least some of the second fluid conduits being selectably fluidly connected to one or more of the first plurality of fluid conduits.2. The manifold of claim 1 , further comprising a multiport valve head claim 1 , the first plurality of parallel fluid conduits terminating at the valve head.3. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein fluid connections between the first and second fluid conduits are established by permanent connections therebetween.4. The manifold of claim 1 , wherein fluid connections between the first and second fluid conduits are established by adjustable transfer valves.5. The manifold of claim 4 , wherein the transfer valves are manually adjustable.6. The manifold of claim 4 , wherein the transfer valves are check valves.7. The manifold of claim 4 , wherein the transfer valves are electronically adjustable and further comprising circuitry for receiving user commands and claim 4 , in response thereto claim 4 , electronically adjusting at least one of the transfer valves.8. The quick release tool includes a U-shaped body which presents a base that has a first side and a second side. The body also has a pair of legs that are spaced laterally from one another and extend away from the first side of the base to respective distal ends. Each of the distal ends presents a pair of ledges that are spaced longitudinally from one another to receive fingers on the locker of the quick connector assembly.
