Where the surface (4) of the moulding (1) adapts to contained pipe or tube, the mineral wool should be sealed in fibre-binding heatproof noncombustible material such as a solidified waterglass solution or else by a solution sprayed on and allowed to solidify. The sealing solution can also be applied by immersion or by pressurised impregnation. The mineral wool moulding can be stabilised throughout by means of a thermoplastic binder and in any case sealed all over its surface. The outer surface (6) of the moulding should be coated in foil, fabric or netting. The moulding can be sprayed with the waterglass solution during its manufacture. The filler may consist of several parts so all together pack out the interval between tubes etc. and housing.

The member 11 may be made of galvanised steel, and the member 16 of steel wool or polyurethane foam. Vibration damping material such as lead, bituminised felt, synthetic rubber or polyvinylchloride may be disposed in sheet form on the inner or outer surface of the member 16, or may be interspersed in the member 16. The members 11 and 16 may be bonded together. Fig. 3 (not shown) depicts a different fastening.

The support 2 is thermally isolated from the body 7 and is positioned at a position of high amplitude of a radiating frequency that is to be reduced.

In order to form a noise suppressor in a hose of e.g. a motor vehicle, modular portions are connected in series to define suppression chambers with particular noise suppression characteristics. Those characteristics are due to the volume of each chamber, to the size of the apertures from the chambers to the central duct of the suppressor, and optionally due to spacers which are inserted into at least one aperture of the chambers to alter the effective open area of that aperture. Such spacers may also be used in which the noise suppressor is not modular. Where modular portions are used, it is preferable that each chamber is bounded by parts of two modular portions. A wall of one modular portion may then close the chamber in another modular portion, making the manufacture of the modular portions easier. Also disclosed is the use of a mass acting as a damper, which may be a noise suppressor as previously discussed, within a hose. The mass is connected to the hose by resilient means, e.g. electrometric material.

본 고안은 냉장고 등에 설치되는 냉각장치에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 압축기의 토출 배관에 설치되어 배관 진동과 소음을 감소시키는 소음기의 구조에 관한 것이다. 본 고안에 따른 냉각장치의 소음기는 헬름홀츠 공명기의 원리에 의해 소음과 진동이 감쇠되도록 압축기의 토출 배관에 설치되며 토출 배관의 내부와 연통되는 유로가 형성된 목부와, 이 목부의 단부에 형성되며 내부에 확장된 공간이 마련된 용기부가 마련되고, 목부에는 소음기가 토출배관에 고정되도록 고정밴드 및 고정나사가 구비되며, 목부의 유로와 토출배관에 형성되는 관통공 사이에 기밀이 유지되도록 고정밴드의 내면에 실링부재가 설치되었다. 따라서, 압축기의 맥동이 소음기의 감쇠파에 의해 감쇠되게 되어 소음 및 진동의 감쇠효과가 뛰어날 뿐만 아니라, 고정밴드 및 고정나사를 통해 소음기를 고정시키게 되므로 소음기의 설치가 용이하게 된다.
