This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for illumination. In one aspect, a lampshade includes a light source coupled to a tapered light guide sheet. The light guide sheet extends laterally and is curved around a vertical axis. The light source injects light into the wide end of the tapered light guide sheet and the tapered sidewalls of the light guide sheet allow the light to escape out of the light guide sheet and in the general direction of the narrow end of the tapered light guide sheet, thereby allowing the lampshade to act as an up-light or down-light, depending on the direction that the narrow end is pointing. The lampshade may include light extracting and turning features and/or a reflector configured to eject light laterally outward from the light guide sheet, thereby allowing the lampshade to illuminate objects on the same plane as the lampshade.

The present invention generally concerns a custom lampshade with a digital print. More specifically, the lamp shade includes an end cap that joins with printing substrates capable of passing light. At least one end cap is used to shape and support a substrate having a digital image printed on at least one of its surfaces. The end cap has a center aperture with a diameter sized to accept a threaded portion of a shade rest or a diameter that is sized to accept a lamp socket. The end cap has an outer channel sized to accept the edges of a transparent substrate material. In another embodiment, the end cap is devoid of an outer channel, but is joined about its outer diameter with a translucent substrate material via an adhesive. C’est une lampe de travail mais également un élément repère dans l’obscurité permettant d’éviter d’allumer systématiquement la lumière. Ce concept permet d’économiser la consommation d’électricité la nuit. Deux bouteilles plastiques découpées (1) constituent le moule pour réaliser la forme de la lampe (2 et 3). L’écart entre les deux contenants (4) est variable, la bouteille à l’intérieur (2) conserve son bouchon (7) pour bloquer le contenu et pour faciliter la réalisation de l’écart entre les deux bouteilles. The thermoplastic shade material (3), cut to shape, is applied to the block (6). Top (1) and bottom (2) stiffening rings lie in prepared rebates. After heat-softening upper and lower shades edges, a frame supporting a circular membrane with a central opening descends over the block, while a vacuum is established between it, the block and the supporting table, to compress the lower shade edge round the corresponding ring. Optionally, a double membrane, expanding to enclose a toroidal space (30), is used. Air pressures both inside (52) and below (51) the toroid are varied to bend the shade edge around the ring. Similar techniques, e.g. using a continuous membrane, are used to finish the upper shade edge.

Hollow articles are made by fastening the ends of a tube of heat shrinkable material over a suitable former, heat contacting the tube to fit the smaller sections of the former, and removing the former. Pref. a pair of formers are mounted back to back with the smallest sections in the middle. Pref. the former(s) with the tube mounted can rotate past a fixed heater. Pref. the equipment incorporates a knife for cutting the shrunk fit tube in two. Pref. an ancillary tool can turn the cut edges of the film to fit channels in the base of each former. After the material is chilled, the formers are pref. sepd. along their axis of rotation. Esp suitable for making lampshades, flower pots, hats or similar shapes.

A method and apparatus for a foldable decorative structure for an object or lamp with top and bottom cones defines a container or an interior region assembly. The foldable material used includes a top panel and a bottom panel which may be separate from or integral with the top panel. Concentric semicircular scored fold lines in the foldable material are cut about vertex references and extend from one edge to another edge of the panels. A top cone is defined between the top panel vertex reference and the top panel semicircular scored fold line with the first edge abutting the second edge of the top panel, and a bottom cone is defined between the bottom panel vertex reference and the bottom panel semicircular scored fold line. An interior region between the top cone and the bottom cone can receive the lamp. The first edge abutting the second edge of the top panel and the first edge abutting the second edge of the bottom panel closes the structure of the top panel and the opposing bottom panel to surround the lamp. A number of gusset design elements disposed on the foldable material may be provided at the periphery of the top and bottom panels for structural locking further supporting the shape, strength and integrity of the decorative structure.

Construction lamp cover is used to cover an electric lamp. Insertion home (4) of vertical-lattice plate (1) and cross-lattice plate (2) is formed rugularly. Depth of insertion home(3)(4) make lower than height of lattice plate(1)(3). After lattice plate is assembled mutually, suitable-pressure is added. This lamp cover is easy to transport anywhere and is practical.
