The reactor is brought to the required pressure and a flow of fuel gas is passed into the coal dust channel together with a part-flow of the gassing agent for hypostoichiometric ignition through the burner flames. For the gassing by partial oxidation, coal dust with additional gassing agent is passed to the burner for ignition by the burner flames. The fuel to the dust burner is dust with water or a water and oil suspension.
