A refrigerator having an ice making device, comprises: a case having an opening at one side thereof; a tray accommodation portion having opened upper and lower surfaces, and configured to be inserted into or withdrawn from the case through the opening; an ice tray accommodated in the tray accommodation portion, and containing water to be frozen to ice cubes; and an accommodation portion coupling unit for coupling the tray accommodation portion to the case. Water is poured onto the ice tray in a state that the ice tray has been accommodated in the tray accommodation portion, and then the ice tray is carried to be mounted to the case. This may solve the conventional problem that each ice tray has to be carried. Furthermore, since an external force such as hand trembling is transmitted to the ice tray via the tray accommodation portion, overflow of water is minimized.

A refrigerator , comprising:an insulated cabinet structure defining a refrigerated interior space having an access opening that permits user access to the refrigerated interior space;a cooling system that is configured to cool the refrigerated interior space;a door assembly that selectively closes off at least a portion of the access opening, wherein a portion of the door assembly includes inner and outer layers that are spaced apart to define an airtight cavity, and wherein the airtight cavity defines a vacuum, and at least one projection that is secured to the outer layer without penetrating the airtight cavity, the door assembly further including a handle secured to the at least one projection.2. The refrigerator of claim 1 , wherein:the projection extends outwardly away from the outer layer of the door, and includes an enlarged end portion.3. The refrigerator of claim 2 , wherein:the projection defines an axis that is transverse to the outer layer, a tapered surface portion that extends away from the axis to form the enlarged end portion.4. Systems and methods for implementing a bi-directional, or two-way door which can be opened from either the left or right side using, in one embodiment, a transfer bar connected to a pair of hinge pins so as to cause each pair to alternatingly insert into or retreat from receivers in a door frame on opposing sides. In a second embodiment, a pair of wheels with offset camming surfaces alternatingly operate corresponding lifting elements to engage or disengage hinge pins on opposing sides of a door. 1. A system for opening a door from either side comprising:a door structure having a top side and an opposing bottom side, and a left side and an opposing right side;a transfer bar having a first end and an opposing second end;a first pair of hinge pins, each hinge pin in said first pair of hinge pins having a proximal end connected to said first end of said transfer bar and an opposing distal end, said distal end of a first hinge pin in said pair disposed at said top side and said distal end of a second hinge pin in said pair disposed at said bottom side;a second pair of hinge pins, each hinge pin in said second pair of hinge pins having a proximal end connected to said second end of said transfer bar and an opposing distal end, said distal end of a first hinge pin in said second pair disposed at said top side and said distal end of a second hinge pin in said second pair disposed at said bottom side;wherein when said transfer bar moves laterally toward said left side, said transfer bar causes said distal ends of said first pair of hinge pins to protrude outward from said top and bottom sides of said door, and said distal ends of said second pair of hinge pins to retreat within said door structure.2. The system of claim 1 , wherein each hinge pin in said first pair and second pair of hinge pins is connected to said transfer bar via a U-link rotatably connected to said proximal ends and rotatably connected to said transfer bar.3. A refrigerator cooler comprises a cabinet comprising at least one storage compartment having an open front and a front face. Refrigerator cooler further has left and right door assemblies rotatably affixed to the cabinet to close and seal against the front face when the left and right door assemblies are in a closed position. The left and right door assemblies comprise left and right doors, perimeter gaskets affixed to the back faces of the left and right doors, magnetic French door gaskets affixed to the inner faces of the left and right doors, and one or more door stops affixed to the left and right doors. The left and right magnetic French door gaskets are magnetically attracted to one another when the left and right doors are closed and are magnetically opposed one another when either the left or right doors are opened.
