Полезная модель относится к получению расправленных армирующих жгутов, пропитанных аппретирующим составом, используемых для получения различных тканей и лент (препрегов) при изготовлении композиционных материалов на их основе. Устройство для сушки пропитанного аппретирующим составом расплавленного армирующего жгута, содержащее сушильную камеру, два опорных валка, размотчик и намотчик термостойкой пленки. Сушильная камера образована основанием и расположенным над ним ограничительным кожухом, выполнена на входе с впускной щелью, а на выходе с выпускной щелью и имеет смонтированные внутри нее нагревательные элементы. При этом опорная поверхность основания между впускной и выпускной щелями выполнена в виде цилиндрической поверхности, выпуклой в направлении перемещения расплавленного армирующего жгута. Один из опорных валков установлен перед впускной щелью сушильной камеры, а второй - за выпускной щелью сушильной камеры. Размотчик выполнен в виде приводного валка и установлен под опорным валком на входе в сушильную камеру. A method for reducing moisture of a material includes applying microwave radiation combined with RF to the material to heat and evacuate moisture from the material during a heating cycle and optionally alternating heating cycles with drying/cooling cycles. In particular, a method is disclosed to reduce a moisture content level of a material that comprises irradiating a portion of the material with microwave to heat and vaporize moisture within the material during a heating cycle; combining or alternating the microwave with RF heating for a time interval during the heating cycle to reduce the moisture content level of the material; and alternating the heating cycle with a cooling cycle. In certain aspects or embodiments, the system comprises at least an enclosure, a microwave delivery device, a radio-frequency emitter and power supply. 1. A method for reducing a moisture content level of a material , the method comprising:irradiating a portion of the material with microwave to heat and vaporize moisture within the material during a heating cycle;combining or alternating the microwave with RF heating for a time interval during the heating cycle to reduce the moisture content level of the material; andalternating the heating cycle with a cooling cycle.2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising alternating the heating cycle with the cooling cycle to remove any moisture evacuated therefrom until the material reaches a uniform moisture content level.3. A pre-dryer for continuous feed or cut sheet systems is described. Such a module can be used in various applications, for example, prior to printing where the time constant for fusing and glossing is long enough that the substrate temperature essentially equilibrates with that of the marking material on the surface of the sheet. The pre-dryer may be part of an image forming device. Substrates, including paper, typically have high moisture content in normal atmospheric conditions. Such substrates may have a moisture content of about 10% water by weight, which is considered high for printing. Such high moisture content in image receiving substrates leads to various artifacts and extends heating times to take the substrate to its glossing temperature that are about four times longer than for dry media. This longer heating time translates to undesirably longer paper paths or nip lengths. 1.
