Cartridged Projectile

Номер: US20130239836A1
Принадлежит: Advanced Material Engineering Pte Ltd

The present invention describes an improved cartridged projectile ( 100 ). The cartridged projectile ( 100 ) comprises a projectile ( 110 ) seating at a mouth of a cartridge case ( 130 ). The cartridge case ( 130 ) has a base ( 134 ) that houses a high pressure chamber ( 150 ). A side of the high pressure chamber ( 150 ) is capped by a pressure disc ( 170 ), which is secured onto the base of the cartridge case by a nozzle ring ( 160 ). The nozzle ring ( 160 ) has a tapered or conical surface that allows the pressure disc ( 170 ) to flex, and a surface ( 171 ) of the pressure disc ( 170 ) exterior of the high pressure chamber has intersecting V-shaped grooves ( 172 ). When propellant in the high pressure chamber ( 150 ) is burned efficiently, high pressure gases developing inside the high pressure chamber cause the pressure disc ( 170 ) to rupture at a predetermined pressure along the grooves ( 172 ) so that the gases propel the projectile ( 110 ) out of a barrel at a higher speed of about 100 m/s or more.

The invention relates to a weapon intended for fighting games, mainly for paintball, namely to special cartridges containing painting liquid. The special cartridge contains a cartridge case that includes a propellant charge a projectile and a primer cap The cartridge case has inside a rigidly fixed nozzle (variants 1, 3) for supplying a portion of the gas stream at the projectile or a solid partition (variant 2). The cylindrical cartridge case body is provided with holes on the side of the primer cap that are intended to direct the gas flow (variants 1-3); in addition, the mouth of the cartridge case is also provided with holes for directing the gas flow (variants 2, 3). The areas of the holes of the nozzle and the total surfaces of the holes and are of different size. To carry out firing process, the primer cap is impacted, which ignites the propellant charge the larger portion of the gas stream formed during combustion of the propellant is directed through the holes in the weapon bore, thus creating a main effect of shot (sound, flame). The lesser gas stream formed by combustion of the propellant charge is directed to the projectile and imparts to it the required acceleration, while maintaining the integrity of its shape and volume. The projectile is made as a tagging one; a bead that is identical to that used in a paintball game can be used as such a projectile. Furthermore, the projectile is designed as a container, inside which any filler, for example, an antiseptic agent, can be located. 1. The Gun Disabling Mock Ammunition is a device made to the same outward dimensional specifications and aesthetic characteristic as actual firearm ammunition; however, when attempted to be fired from a firearm, the effect is a non-hazardous, exothermic reaction taking place within the ammunition cartridge, producing heat substantial enough to bond the Gun Disabling Mock Ammunition to the inside of the chamber of the firearm, rendering the firearm immediately disabled and the chamber destroyed. This is accomplished while posing no risk of injury to the user or bystanders. The components of the Gun Disabling Mock Ammunition are non-toxic, non-hazardous, and chemically stable. Through use of the Gun Disabling Mock Ammunition, a reduction of deaths, injuries and crimes resulting from the intentional and unintentional use and access of unsecured legal, illegal and insurgent-force firearms can be achieved.

Принадлежит: CONCEIVED INNOVATIONS

An electronic conditioning device delivers electric shocks correlated with sounds or driven by a signal associated with a sound sequence. The sound sequence can be a few seconds of a recorded human voice, a siren, a single tone, and so forth. A sound generator emits the sound sequence audibly. A power supply is electrically connected to the various components and provides energy to a shock inducer or electrodes embedded in the skin of a target. The device administers voltage spikes and sounds in a coordinated fashion. The conditioning encourages the target to associate certain sounds with the electric shock. Power may be supplied by a battery, a piezoelectric flexible film or movable magnet that converts kinetic motion into electric energy. A piston/rocket projectile for use within a launcher system having a barrel and method of firing such are presented herein. The projectile comprises a projectile body having a combustion chamber for propellant, a piston moveable to extend out a base of the projectile as a result of ignition of propellant in the combustion chamber, and vents for expulsion of combustion products from the ignition of propellant out of the projectile base after initial movement of the piston. A casing is secured to the base of the projectile body, enclosing the piston and vents prior to the ignition of propellant, and a frangible joint is disposed between the casing and the base of the projectile body. Upon ignition of propellant in the combustion chamber, the projectile piston is forced against the casing and causes the frangible joint to break, leaving the casing in the barrel. After the piston completes exertion of propulsion force against the casing, combustion products of the ignition of propellant are expelled through the vents out of a lower end of the projectile and solid combustion byproducts from the ignition of the propellant are collected in the casing.
