Secured to the walls of the vial by a fused circumferential joint is a glass partition 13 having an aperture 16 in the bubble 12 and an aperture 17 in the alcohol 11. Alternatively the partition may be provided with notches in its periphery.

ILLUMINATED SPIRIT LEVEL An illuminated spirit level comprises a bubble tube mounted in a support body with light source shielded to define two light paths directed through the bubble tube to apertures on the outside of the support body so that with the bubble positioned centrally the light is communicated directly from the light source through the bubble tube to the apertures. On movement of the bubble relative to the bubble tube caused by inclination of the spirit level, the bubble intercepts one of the light paths so as to cause refraction directing the light away from the aperture. The different refraction is caused by the difference in shape between the lower surfaces of the bubble and the upper surface of the bubble tube. The curvature of the bubble causes the edge to totally reflect the light path to divert the light.

Bei Skitouren ist das genaue Bestimmen von Hangneigungen für die Lawinenbeurteilung neben weiteren Faktoren sehr wichtig. Mit Skistöcken kann man die Neigung des Hanges relativ einfach messen. The present invention is directed to a marking device that includes a main backplate. At the center of the marking device there may be a central hole, and attached to the backplate, are two extendable arms, each designed with a pin attachment to make marks and/or small holes in the wall material. The extendable arms are attached to the backplate in a manner that the arm pin attachments on each arm are perfectly aligned with the central hole. Using a set of gears or other method, the extendable arms are fitted to the back plate in a manner whereby the extension and/or retraction of one arm causes the other arm to move in an equal, but opposite manner. With this, the holes and/or marks will be equidistant from the central hole/pin hole, and also in-line with the center hole/pin hole and each other.

Disclosed herein is an adjustable instrument for the measuring, determining and marking of two or more horizontal or vertical points that allow precise spacing, alignment and leveling between points on a surface. The instrument includes a flexible tape strip member with markings to indicate distance measurements, a level member attached parallel to the length of the tape strip, a fastening member such as thumbtacks which serve to mark the tape strip member at various positions to indicate the desired spacing or distance between points and further serves to mark the position of the points. The tape strip member with the attached fastening members are then taken to a surface such as a wall where one of the fastening members is driven into the wall. The invention is related to gages to measure incline angles of moving and immobile objects and can be used in incline angle gages in such transportation vehicles as airplanes and ships (if a phosphorus scale can be applied to a closed loop clear tube) as a standby device to display pitch and roll angles (FIG. , FIG. , FIG. , FIG. ). The purpose of this invention is an effective measurement of incline angles in stationary and dynamic objects in a wide range (0°-180°, 0°-360°). Faster measurement is required to improve stated parameters of the general purpose liquid angle indicator. It is achieved because liquid, an air bubble or indicating ball within the semicircular and round clear tube, subjected to gravitational forces, can display measured angles relative to the scale on the graduated clear tube without being in a horizontal position. 1. A liquid angle indicator , consisting of the base with a graduated glass tube attached to it , which contains liquid and an indicator , i.e. an air bubble , differing by having an open loop semicircular glass tube , its ends are attached to the rectangular plate (base).
