The arrangement relates to scales used for analysis, which are usually totally enclosed in a case with glass sides and top, with sliding windows giving access to the scale pans. Most scales of this type in use have a separate enclosed space from the weighing space within the same housing. A coupling device is now incorporated so as to ensure that when one sliding window is closed or opened, the other follows suit in synchronisation. Pref, the coupling device comprises a stirrup attached to a fixed part of the housing and is arranged within the separate space from the scales. At the lower ends of its parallel arms it has slits which work with projections from the sliding windows.
