A mixing valve includes the volume control valve, a pressure proportioning valve, and a thermostatic valve assembly within a single modular housing. The housing is rotatably mounted in a valve body. The housing houses the proportioning valve and the thermostatic control valve. Rotation of the housing controls the total volumetric flow from the supply inlets of the valve plate at the end of the housing. The thermostatic control valve includes a pivotable lever which has a spring seated at one side and a thermally responsive wax element at the other side with the fulcrum of the lever between the spring and wax element. Control handles are mounted at the end of the valve to independently control the volume and the temperature. An annular discharge chamber surrounds the housing section which houses the proportioning valve. The discharge chamber is in fluid communication to an outlet which is located at the same end of the valve body as the hot and cold water inlet supply lines.

While maintaining the outer diameter and height of the high legged seat of the valve enclosure under existing standard specifications of ceramic valves, the bottom ends of the cold and hot water through holes of the high legged seat are configured with a water inlet pipe set housing groove for fitting an eccentrically positioned assembled water inlet pipe set, which are made up of cold and hot water tubes. When the meshing edges of the tubes are joined together, a balancing valve housing space is defined inside to hold a cold and hot water balancing valve unit. The cold and hot water balancing valve structure fits existing standard ceramic valve specifications, so as to dramatically reduce the production cost of cold-hot balancing valves while realizing the cold and hot water balancing function.

A method of hydraulic fracturing of an oil producing formation includes the provision of a heating apparatus which is transportable and that has a vessel for containing water. The method contemplates heating the water up to a temperature of about 200° F. (93.3° C.). A water stream of cool or cold water is transmitted from a source to a mixer, the cool water stream being at ambient temperature. The mixer has an inlet that receives cool or cold water from the source and an outlet that enables a discharge of a mix of cool or cold water and the hot water. After mixing in the mixer, the water assumes a temperature that is suitable for mixing with chemicals that are used in the fracturing process, such as a temperature of about 40°-120° F.+ (4.4-48.9° C.+). An outlet discharges a mix of the cool and hot water to surge tanks or to mixing tanks. In the mixing tanks, a proppant and an optional selected chemical or chemicals are added to the water which has been warmed. From the mixing tanks, the water with proppant and optional chemicals is injected into the well for part of the hydraulic fracturing operation. The mixer preferably employs lateral fittings that enable heated water to enter the mixer bore at an acute angle. The mixer can also provide a lateral fitting that exits the mixer bore upstream of the first lateral fitting, the second lateral fitting transmitting water via a conduit such as a hose to the heater. 1. A temperature sensor for a first fluid senses a temperature of the first fluid downstream of a heat exchanger. A supply for a second fluid changes a temperature of the first fluid. The supply for the second fluid passes through the heat exchanger. A valve is positioned upstream of the said heat exchanger on the supply for the second fluid, and controls a flow rate of the second fluid diverted into a bypass line compared to a flow rate of the second fluid directed through the heat exchanger, with the three-way valve controlled by a control in response to feedback from said temperature sensor. The valve changes the respective flow rates delivered into the bypass line and through the said heat exchanger in a non-linear manner with a change in valve position. At least one thermostat is located inside a structure and is used to control an HVAC system in the structure. At least one remote processor is in communication with said thermostat and at least one database stores data reported by the thermostat. At least one processor compares the outside temperature at at least one location and at least one point in time to information reported to the remote processor from the thermostat. The remote processor ramps the setpoint on the thermostat so as to reduce the average spread between inside temperature and outside temperature in order to reduce energy consumption with affecting comfort. The remote processor takes into account the effect of weather conditions and occupant preferences in determining whether and when to ramp setpoints. 1. The present invention provides an apparatus for heating a fluid using solar energy. The apparatus comprises: a fluid source, a first chamber comprising a fluid inlet to allow one-way movement of a fluid from the fluid source to the first chamber, a second chamber comprising a fluid outlet to allow the controlled movement of a fluid internal the second chamber to a further chamber or external the apparatus, and a fluid connection between the first and second chambers to allow substantially one-way movement of a fluid from the first chamber to the second chamber. Each of the chambers is fluid tight and configured as a solar collector to heat a fluid therein. The apparatus as a whole operates such that under even incident solar radiation a fluid is heated in each of the chambers and upon thermal expansion of the fluid, the fluid is moved in a controlled manner substantially one-way from the first chamber to the second chamber, and from the second chamber to a further chamber or to the outside the apparatus. By the movement of fluid from the first chamber to the second chamber, the first chamber donates a portion of the heat energy held by the fluid therein to the second chamber, the second chamber becomes enriched in heat energy by the gain of fluid and the first chamber becomes deprived in energy by the loss of fluid such that the second chamber contains fluid that is hotter than the first chamber.

A headset, during play of a particular game, receives a plurality of audio channels carrying game sounds and determines whether a first of the game sounds overwhelms a second of the game sounds. In response to the determination, the headset adjusts a level of one or more of the audio channels such that perceptibility of the second game sound is improved relative to perceptibility of the first game sound prior to the adjustment, wherein for the adjustment, a level of one or more of the audio channels carrying the first game sound is decreased while a level of one or more of the audio channels carrying the second game sound is maintained or increased. The audio channels include three or more audio channels and the adjustment of the level of the audio channels is performed while the three or more audio channels are combined into two stereo channels. 1. A method , comprising:in a headset during play of a particular game:receiving a plurality of surround sound channels carrying game sounds, said plurality of surround sound channels comprising three or more surround sound channels;determining that a first of said game sounds in a first sound channel has a higher loudness relative to a second of said game sounds in a second sound channel;in response to said determining, adjusting a power level of one or more of said plurality of surround sound channels such that loudness of said second one of said game sounds relative to said first one of said game sounds is increased; andcombining said plurality of surround sound channels into two stereo channels.2. The method according to claim 1 , comprising:detecting when said first one of said game sounds ceases to be too loud relative to said second one of said game sounds; andin response to said detecting, adjusting said power level of said one or more of said plurality of surround sound channels.3.
