Принадлежит:

A method and resulting product of generating a bible torah or other religious text personalized to an intended recipient. The person giving the bible selects a characterization of a bible, such as a cowboy bible, truck driver's bible, lawyer's bible, children's bible, woman's bible and the like. Then the giver selects an age group of the intended recipient of the bible. Based on this information the system then presents a form for the giver to select from a list of problems experienced by said intended recipient. The giver is then given an opportunity to select additional passages from the bible or other sacred texts to be highlighted. A personalized message with sections highlighted which related to an intended recipients age and problems. This message can be a bound volume produced by the steps of feeding lightweight paper through a printer, printing using an inkjet technique or other relatively thinly deposited ink to print on said paper to result in producing printed paper, and binding said printed paper into a volume. The inventive combination may incorporate lightweight or ordinary paper in one volume of a scriptural or underlying religious text (such as the Holy Bible, the Torah, or the Qur'an) and a biographical text detailing the triumphs and hardships of the life of either a celebrated public figure or an extraordinary but seemingly every-day character. By cross-referencing these two texts, and packaging them in a single volume form where they can easily be flipped between, the teachings of a particular religious faith can be made more readily accessible to the public at large. 1. A method of educating and instilling moral values in an individual , comprising:creating a first set of pages having content selected from a classical philosophical text;creating a second set of pages having content selected from a life experience story of an individual or individuals who may serve as a role model, said content selected from a life experience story of said ...

Method for reducing jet module stitch error

Номер: WO2011011038A1
Автор: James Michael Enge
Принадлежит: EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY

A test pattern is printed using the nozzles of adjacent jetting modules, and the pattern is analyzed to detect a stitch error in the overlap regions. The results of this analysis is used to calculate a set of correction values to be applied to print data subsequently sent to nozzles of the adjacent jetting modules to make a correction for the stitch error. During a subsequent production run, the print data sent to the nozzles of the adjacent jetting modules is analyzed to sense an image content attribute. These results of the analysis of the print data is then used to calculate a dynamic adjustment that is used to adjust the set of correction values calculated during the set up procedure. The line head is then used to print the corrected print data by applying the set of adjusted correction values to production print data subsequently sent to the jetting modules.

After an ink-jet recording head (1) with a plurality of discharging portions (Nos. 1-128) arranged is main-scanned in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the discharging portion arrangement to record a first image area, sub-scanning of the head is performed. Before the head is main-scanned to record a second image area, the sub-scanning is performed so that a few discharging portions (Nos. 1-3) on an upper edge portion of the head (1) in second main-scanning overlap part of the first image area. Ink droplets land on pixels in the overlapping portion twice for each main-scanning, and image density of the pixels in the overlapping portion is controlled by the sum number of the landing ink droplets. This enables image density unevenness of image density, a "black stripe banding" or a "white stripe banding" in a boundary of an image area being recorded in each main-scanning to be markedly reduced.

Diode laser array system for printing and copying applications

Номер: US4445125A
Принадлежит: Xerox Corp

A linear array of injection diode lasers formed on a common substrate is utilized to provide modulated scanning beams for a photosensitive medium. A scanning device, preferably a multifaceted mirror polygon driven at a constant speed, is placed in the optical path between the array and the photosensitive medium, as is a focusing lens. To provide additive exposure intensity the plane of the emitting surface of the array is oriented relative to the scanning device so that all of the beams emitted by the array are caused to illuminate the same scan line of the photosensitive medium whereby each beam scans the same data spots on the same line of the photosensitive medium such that additive exposure of those spots is achieved. Alternatively, each laser of an array of N lasers could be used to expose only 1/N spots across a scan line thereby lowering the duty cycle for each laser whereby the pulse power emission from each laser can be increased so that one diode laser can provide the required exposure intensity at the photosensitive medium. In those instances where a single laser can expose each spot of a scan line of a photosensitive medium with the required exposure intensity for that photosensitive medium, the emitting surface of the array can be oriented relative to the scanning device so that each beam emitted by an array of N lasers illuminates a different scan line position of the photosensitive medium. As the scanning device rotates, this orientation provides for simultaneous scanning of N scan lines. By properly choosing the orientation of the emitting surface of the array relative to the scanning device consecutive horizontal scan lines can be written with a vertical separation smaller than the separation between the lasers of the array. Advantages of these orientations is that the printing speed can be substantially increased up to N times or the rotation speed of the scanning device can be decreased up to a factor of N or any combination thereof while ...

Determination of optimum merge line locations

Номер: US8493624B2
Принадлежит: Eastman Kodak Co

A method for forming a halftone image on recording media includes providing a recording head comprising a plurality of individually addressable recording channels. The recording head forms a plurality of image swaths, with each swath formed during a separate scan. A plurality of locations is identified within a representative unit cell of the halftone image. A quantified value for each location is determined based on a sub-scan misalignment associated with a proposed merging of two image swaths at the location corresponding to the quantified value. A merge location is selected from the plurality of locations, corresponding to a desired quantified values. The recording head forms the halftone image on the recording media while merging a first image swath and a second image swath at the selected merge location within a first unit cell of the halftone image.

In a recording apparatus, a recording medium is fixed to a recording medium fixing member. To record a desired image, the recording medium is exposed to light containing image/character data, while the recording medium is moved in the main scan direction, and a plurality of spots arrayed on the recording medium are moved in a direction orthogonal to the main scan direction. In the recording apparatus, first and second exposure operations are performed. In the first exposure operation, the recording medium is exposed to the light containing image/character data, while forming pixel groups or island patterns each consisting of a predetermined number of pixels consecutively arrayed on the recording medium in the main and sub-scan directions. In a second exposure operation and the subsequent ones, the pixels in an unexposed area other than the island patterns on the recording medium are successively exposed to the light.

Method for enhancing the uniformity and consistency of dot formation produced by color ink jet printing

Номер: US4999646A
Автор: Jeffrey L. Trask
Принадлежит: Hewlett Packard Co

A multiple pass complementary dot pattern ink jet printing process for enhancing the uniformity and consistency of dot (drop) formation during color ink jet printing. Such enhancement in turn directly affects and improves the total print quality over a color printed area by minimizing the undesirable characteristics of coalescence, beading, hue shift, bending, cockeling and color bleed when printing on both transparencies and plain or special papers. Using this process, successive printed swaths are made by depositing first and second partially overlapping complementary dot patterns on a print media. Simultaneously, the dot spacing in coincident dot rows within the overlapping portions of the dot patterns is alternated between dots in the first pattern and dots in the second pattern. This invention is also directed to the novel process of combining complementary pass ink jet printing as described above with dot-next-to-dot (DND) super pixeling in order to further optimize the ink drop drying conditions desirable for producing the above optimized uniformity and consistency of dot formation over a given color printed area.

Recording apparatus for performing complementary recording and recording method therefor

Номер: EP0694396A2
Принадлежит: Canon Inc

A recording apparatus is to perform complementary recording in order to eliminate the white streak caused by recording elements becoming incapable of recording while recording an image. Particularly, in an ink jet recording method for recording an image by discharging ink from nozzles, the white streak caused by nozzles becoming incapable of discharging ink can be eliminated by the performance of a complementary recording in accordance with the present invention. Preceding printing, abnormal nozzles are detected, and then, data related to such abnormal nozzles are removed. In accordance with such data, one scan printing is performed. Preceding the returning operation of the printing head subsequent to the one scan, a sub-scanning feed is performed so that normal nozzles are positioned in a location corresponding to the white streak appearing in the one scan printing. In this way, while returning the printing head, the printing is performed in accordance with such data related to the abnormal nozzles detected at the time of one scan, hence executing a complementary recording appropriately.

Method and apparatus for thermally printing large images with small dye-donor patches

Номер: US5140341A
Принадлежит: Eastman Kodak Co

A thermal printer uses a relatively small dye-donor patches to produce images which are larger than the dye-donor patches. An image is formed by printing and merging of multiple sub-images. Each of the sub-images is smaller than one of the dye-donor patches. Merging of the sub-images is performed by generating data fields for sub-images and then distributing image data throughout overlapping segments of the sub-image data fields. A distribution of a portion of the image data is made in a first overlapping segment in a first pattern that is substantially non-linear. A second distribution of remaining image data is made in a second overlapping segment in a pattern that is complementary to the first pattern. When the overlapping segment are brought together, a merger zone between the sub-images becomes virtually undetectable to an unaided human eye.

Impact dot-matrix printer

Номер: KR890001159B1

This printer reduces power loading during printing of dense black areas, as found in bar charts, by making N repeated scans, in which selected dots are energised. Printing is controlled by two timing signals; print signal which initiates a dot, and scan signal. The two timing signals drive two modulo-N counters which feed a coincidence detector which enables a dot only when counter signals are equal. A dot is enabled when the dot counter is at zero after three counts in scan one. On the second scan, the scan counter is at one, and a dot is enabled when the dot counter arrives at one, etc. until a completed line is printed in N passes.

METHOD FOR RECORDING INFORMATION

Номер: DE4110776A1
Принадлежит: Mannesmann AG

In order to record information on a recording substrate (2), a printing head (1) with a number (a) of printing elements (11) is moved to and fro across printing positions (22, 23, 24) by lines. Partial numbers (n) of the printing elements (11) form sub-groups (15) in accordance with a predetermined individual print line which are allocated to the printing positions (22, 23, 24) of a printed line (29) and formed by at least partly differing printing elements (11). The printing elements (11-1 to 11-4) of the sub-group (15) concerned are selectively controlled at the printing positions (22, 23, 24) in accordance with the printing data to produce a model print line (31). On the completion of a subsequent model print line (33), the formation of a subsequent model print line (34) is determined at least on the continuation side on the formation of the previous print line (29). Stripes caused by line continuation errors or inking ribbon structural errors are distributed with a vertical displacement over the printed image by the process of the invention; unlike the case with uniform structures, the human eye hardly takes notice of such distributed faults.

Image recording apparatus for recording an image on a recording medium

Номер: US20030085947A1

An image recording apparatus records an image on a recording medium by causing a recording head having an arrangement of a plurality of recording elements to conduct its main scanning for the recording medium interrelatedly in the direction opposite to the arrangement of the recording elements. The apparatus comprises a setting device to set the number of main scannings by the recording head; a main scanning device to perform recording by plural numbers of main scannings with respect to one pixel by causing the recording head to conduct its main scannings for the same recording area of the recording medium in accordance with the number set by the setting device; and a sub-scanning device to cause the recording head and the recording medium to be sub-scanned interrelatedly per main scanning in an amount smaller than the width of the arrangement of the recording elements of the recording head. Hence, even if a disabled ejection occurs in one scanning at the time of recording by a multi-scanning, the missing dot is complemented by the following scan to make it possible to obtain an image having no image defects at all times.
