A method of driving a display uses first ( 4 ) and second ( 5 ) illumination cycles of the display. In each cycle, a first set of pixels ( 1′ ) is illuminated with a first color (R, G) and a second set of pixels ( 2′ ) is illuminated with a second color (G, B). The first and second colors of the two cycles together include at least three colors (R, G, B) for forming an image. This method provides a sequential drive scheme, in that at least two cycles are used with different color properties. However, each cycle uses at least two different colors, so that each cycle is not a single color across the whole display area. In this way, the color sequence is alternated spatially as well as temporally.

Crystal growth is performed by a second heat treatment using the first oxide crystal component as a seed, so that a second oxide crystal component is formed. Thus, a stacked oxide material is formed. A transistor with a high mobility is formed using the stacked oxide material and a driver circuit is formed using the transistor.

After all pixel rows corresponding to a group are scanned, the voltages of a half of the capacity storage lines in the group are switched from a first value to a second value, and the voltages of the other half of the capacity storage lines in the group are switched from the second value to the first value.

A plurality of drawing out ports of the power source supply line are arranged. Further, in the wiring resistance between the external input terminal and the pixel portion power source supply line, potential compensation is performed by supplying potential to the power source supply line by a feedback amplifier. An electric field may be produced by each image pixel electrode that extends through a liquid crystal layer to an associated portion of the ground plane. The slits in the ground plane may have a slit width. Data lines may be located sufficiently below the ground plane and sufficiently out of alignment with the slits to minimize crosstalk from parasitic electric fields. A three-column inversion scheme may be used when driving data line signals into the display, so that pairs of pixels that straddle the slits are each driven with a common polarity. Gate line scanning patterns may be used that enhance display uniformity.
