The error-pattern original data is inserted into the main data that is scrambling based on a DVD standard. The scrambled data is recorded in data sectors. Increased copy protection on media such as CD's, by the creation of a physical identity checked by software on the media. This identity could be by marks creating what is known as bad sectors. Software will have the tracks that contain the bad sectors scanned. The scan will produce addresses from the disc where the bad sectors are located. If the scan results match that recorded when the software was written the program continues to load. If the match does not agree the disc will abort loading. The advantage of using a physical identity such as bad sectors is that it cannot be copied in the normal way and loading will not complete if the correct identity cannot be established thus enhancing copy protection. This system will be contained solely on the media and require no external checking.

Изобретение относится к вычислительной технике и может использоваться разработчиками программно-информационного обеспечения (ПИО) для защиты их продуктов от несанкционированного использования. Цель изобретения состоит в упрощении организации и эксплуатации системы защиты. Защита осуществляется с помощью идентифицируемых ключей. В качестве ключа используется лицензионный носитель информации (магнитный диск), а в качестве индентификаторов - повреждения покрытия (поврежденные сектора). Номера поврежденных секторов заносятся в ПИО. В процессе использования ПИО осуществляется индентификация носителя по занесенным в ПИО номерам испорченных секторов, по результатам индентификации выполняется заданный регламент использования ПИО.
