A coaxial cable connector including a connector body, a compression member axially movable with respect to the connector body, a clamp having a cable end, a terminal end, and an inner bore, the inner bore having a contact surface configured to contact an outer conductor of a coaxial cable, the cable end having a slot extending toward the terminal end, and a cable seal having a band, a link, and an engagement member, the band located adjacent the contact surface, the link configured to fit into the slot, and the engagement member attached to the link opposite the band, the engagement member located adjacent the clamp, wherein the engagement member provides radially inward pressure, and wherein, upon assembly to the coaxial cable, the band forms an environmental seal between the contact surface and the outer conductor of the coaxial cable is provided. A seal member for use with a connector assembly , the connector assembly configured to attach to a coaxial cable having a corrugated outer conductor , the seal member comprising:a first band portion;a second band portion, the second band portion separated from the first band portion by a gap; anda link structurally connecting the first band portion to the second band portion;wherein the second band portion is configured to contact the corrugated outer conductor when the coaxial cable is fully inserted into the connector assembly to provide an environmental seal.2. A method is disclosed for moisture tight covering a connection point between an electrical conductor. The method includes exposing the conductor at its end by removing the insulation and subsequently electrically conductively connecting the end of the conductor, from which the insulation has been removed, to the contact element. After the connection point is finished, a foil of insulation material is positioned underneath the connection point, where the foil rests against the insulation of the conductor and at least partially against the contact element. Subsequently, a sealing material capable of hardening is applied from above onto the conductor, wherein the sealing material is flowable during its application and subsequently changes over by hardening into a mechanically stable state which extends beyond the insulation of the conductor and beyond the contact element and is connected tightly to the foil. 1. The connector may have various features such as a modular design whereby the connector is constructed from a series of stacked contact modules. Other features of the connector include electrical contacts that are relatively thin conductors or the order of 0.040 inches or less and that may include radial protrusions to establish contact with the electrical connectors of the lead. Furthermore, electrical contacts may be mounted within the connector in a floating manner so that radial movement of the electrical contact may occur during lead insertion. A method for making a leak detection cable comprising:extruding a conductive coating, that comprises a preselected conductive plastic, around at least one detector wire to form at least one detector conductor;extruding a non-conductive coating that comprises a preselected non-conductive plastic around at least one feedback wire to form at least one feedback conductor;extruding a jacket around said at least one detector conductor and said at least one feedback conductor so that said at least one feedback conductor is substantially surrounded by said jacket, and said at least one detector conductor is partially surrounded by said jacket by an amount sufficient to hold said at least one detector conductor in said jacket and provide an opening adjacent to said at least one detector conductor to allow exposure to aqueous fluids, said jacket comprising a plastic jacket material that is dissimilar to, and has low adhesion with, said preselected conductive plastic and said preselected non-conductive plastic so that said jacket can be easily removed from said detector conductor.2.
