At least a portion of the long header is transmitted at a first frequency, and at least a portion of the data frame and any remaining portion of the long header not transmitted at the first frequency are transmitted at one or more additional frequencies different from each other and the first frequency. In one example, only two channels are used: one channel is used to transmit all of the long header, another channel is used to transmit all of the data frame, and either of the channels is used to transmit an identifier identifying the type of the data frame.

A method of transferring a service channel over a fibre optic system line is proposed. The system line normally transmits regular data signals with a specific highfrequency (34% Mbits), which are coded according to a certain code. The method for transmitting a signal by a base station in an FA-NOMA system includes determining a frequency offset to be applied to a first signal transmitted to a first user equipment (UE) based on a second signal transmitted to a second UE, determining information for interference caused by the frequency offset, determining at least one pre-processing factor for the first UE based on the information for the interference, and transmitting a third signal including at least one first pilot to the first UE using the at least one pre-processing factor. By way of example, a received data request can be packed in a first portion of the CEDL and a received voice request can be packed in a second portion of the CEDL. Subsequent requests can be assigned to contiguous channel elements (CEs) of the CEDL within the first or second portion, as suitable. In addition, non-assigned CEs can be maintained in a third portion of the CEDL, by packing requests initially from opposite ends of the first and second portion, and be re-packing dropped traffic within the CEDL. Accordingly, the subject disclosure provides for efficient utilization of CEDL resources both for incoming voice traffic requests and incoming data traffic requests, by packing and maintaining data, voice and un-assigned CEs in contiguous portions of the CEDL.

Pursuant to this scheme, an upstream transceiver in the optical interface unit transmits STS-1 frames, which contain broadband information signals, intended for one or more remote sites, and a return time slot-representative control code associated with each destination remote site, over the multi-drop communication to the remote sites. At a remote site, a downstream transceiver uses the return time slot-representative control code to control its time of transmission over an uplink slotted bus return channel.

The method starts by initializing a transmitting circuit and a receiving circuit to selectively multiplex the plurality of signal lines from the transmitting circuit through the I/O pin and into the receiving circuit. This initialization process includes selecting at least one of the plurality of signal lines to be multiplexed through the I/O pin, as well as synchronizing the transmitting circuit and the receiving circuit by asserting a reset signal. Once the transmitting and receiving circuits are initialized, the selected signal lines are multiplexed from the transmitting circuit through the I/O pin and into corresponding memory elements in the receiving circuit. Note that the transmitting circuit and the receiving circuit are driven by a common clock signal.

The oscillation output of the voltage-controlled oscillator (5) is then synchronized with the carrier for the amplitude-modulated signal to produce a clock signal for demodulating data.

A process and apparatus for simultaneously broadcasting a first intelligence signal with a plurality of second intelligence signals is disclosed. The transmitter performs the following steps: multiplexing the plurality of second intelligence signals into a single signal to form a first modulating signal; frequency modulating a first radio frequency carrier signal with the first modulating signal to form a second radio frequency carrier signal; amplitude modulating the second radio frequency carrier signal using the first intelligence signal as a second modulating signal; and broadcasting the resultant single radio frequency signal out over a transmitting antenna. The receiver performs the following steps: after receiving the single radio frequency signal over a receiving antenna, it amplitude-demodulates the single radio frequency signal to yield the first intelligence signal, and the second radio frequency carrier signal; by frequency-demodulating the second radio frequency carrier signal, the first modulating signal is yielded; and by demultiplexing the first modulating signal, the plurality of second intelligence signals is yielded.

Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate transmitting and receiving signals over I and Q branches of a communication channel to mitigate potential I/Q imbalance. In particular, a device can transmit a signal over the I and Q branches to distribute transmission power substantially evenly for a given channel. The device can demodulate the data with a code or matrix having real and complex modifiers resulting in an I and Q branch signal for transmission. Where the channel has multiple resources, the device can alternate or transmit over the I branch in one resource and the Q branch in another resource for a given signal to distribute power. Also, the device can apply a complex scrambling code to distribute a signal over both the I and Q branches. The device can also use QPSK or higher order modulation to send the signals meant for the same user.
