An efficient system for simultaneously conveying a large number of telephone conversations over a much smaller number of relatively low-bandwidth digital communication channels is disclosed. Each incoming telephone speech signal is filtered, periodically sampled, and digitized. An efficient computational speech compression algorithm is applied to transform a sequence of digitized speech samples into a much shorter sequence of compression variables. The compression variable sequence is further processed to construct a minimum-length bit string, and an identifying header is appended to form a packet. Only a few packets containing information on representative background noise are generated during pauses in speech, thereby conserving digital bandwidth. The packets are queued and transmitted asynchronously over the first available serial digital communication channel. A powered device, a power supply system and an operation mode selection method are provided. The power supply system includes a power sourcing equipment and the powered device. The powered device is electrically connected to the power sourcing equipment through an internet cable. The powered device includes a sensing module and a controlling module. The sensing module receives an internet signal from the power sourcing equipment through the internet cable, and outputs a switching signal according to the internet signal. The present invention relates to a method for synchronized communication in access network applied G.hn technology thereto, access network multiplexer (GAM), an access network terminal (GNT), and access network system using the same, which comprises a plurality of domain masters that communicate with the access network terminal; a clock controller controlling at least one of speed or output of the signal that the domain master transmits; and an access network terminal which communicates with the access network multiplexer (GAM) connecting the domain masters and G.hn specification physical layer, and at least one of speed or output of the signal that the access terminal transmits is controlled by the clock control unit. The present invention provides efficient data transmission and high bandwidth to service subscribers with applying G.hn technology to conventional coaxial cable or telephone line, thereby reducing crosstalk occurred in data transmission.

A method for performing video analytics includes receiving at a source end video data including first video data relating to an event of interest. Using video analytics, other than a data compression process, pre-processing of the video data is performed at the source end to reduce the bandwidth requirement for transmitting the video data to below a bandwidth limit of a Wide Area Network (WAN) over which the video data is to be transmitted. The pre-processed video data is transmitted to a central server via the WAN, where other video analytics processing of the pre-processed video data is performed. An overlay network is enhanced to provide traffic delivery using anycast and end user mapping. An anycast IP address is associated with sets of forwarding machines positioned in the overlay network. These locations correspond with IP addresses for zero rated billing traffic.
