Method and system for sending a message through a secure connection

The method and system enable secure forwarding of a message from a first computer to a second computer via an intermediate computer in a telecommunication network. A message is formed in the first computer or in a computer that is served by the first computer, and in the latter case, sending the message to the first computer. In the first computer, a secure message is then formed by giving the message a unique identity and a destination address. The message is sent from the first computer to the intermediate computer after which the destination address and the unique identity are used to find an address to the second computer. A destination mobile station having a mobile number and a packet address registers, in a network directory server, the packet address with a hostname corresponding to the mobile number. A sending mobile station, upon receiving a messaging service message for transmission to the mobile number of the destination mobile station, sends an address query to the network directory server including the hostname corresponding to the mobile number of the destination mobile station. Handset Transitions in a Dual-Mode Environment

Embodiments of the invention provide novel solutions, including systems, methods and/or software, for handling calls in a dual-mode VoIP/cellular environment. Merely by way of example, some systems can be configured to determine whether to use a VoIP system or a cellular system to handle a particular call, and/or to transition a call from one network to the other network. Other systems can be configured to substitute a public number (which might be, for example, a VoIP number) for a private number (which might be, for example, a cellular number) when routing a call originating from a dual-mode phone on a cellular network. A method for telephony includes receiving at an Internet telephony service provider a subscriber request to place a call to a telephone number. A cache associated with the internet telephony service provider is queried to check if the cache holds a record for the telephone number. If the cache holds the record, the record is obtained. If the cache does not hold the record, a request is sent to a database server that maintains a database of records associating endpoint user terminal telephone numbers of subscribers with respective packet network addresses of the endpoint user terminal. The call is placed to the endpoint user terminal telephone number via a public switched telephone network whilst the request is sent to the database server to retrieve the packet network address of the endpoint user terminal to which calls to the telephone number should be placed.

Method and apparatus for providing media resources in a communication network

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining from a transport protocol message, capability information associated with user equipment associated with a call session, determining a first codec to provide a first media service to the user equipment associated with the call session according to the capability information, and responsive to determining the first codec, searching a codec table to obtain a first resource identifier associated with a first media resource function to provide the first media service according to the first codec. Method and system for sending a message through a secure connection

The present invention relates to a machine-to-machine communication system using a social network service (SNS), a machine-to-machine communication method, and a machine-to-machine communication server, wherein when the machine-to-machine communication server receives a control information from a second machine-to-machine communication device which has received the control information of a first machine-to-machine communication device through an SNS interface, the machine-to-machine communication server converts the control information into a command recognizable by the first machine-to-machine communication device and transmits the command to the first machine-to-machine communication server such that the second machine-to-machine communication device can receive information corresponding to the command, thereby enabling a user, which is a person, to communicate with a machine-to-machine communication device using an interface of an SNS familiar to the user and to easily control the machine-to-machine communication device or acquire information.

The connecting of a B-party number to a specific data object, hereafter referred to as phonepage, will allow an A-party direct access to information that a B-party wishes to display to a calling party. The phonepage resides in a memory in a telecommunications network, or in a memory in a data-communications network connected thereto. The phonepage may have a similar appearance to an Internet web page, but may also take other appearances. The displaying of the phonepage may be made dependent upon the capabilities of the A-party user equipment.
