The host device and the accessory can also “tunnel” information to each other through the intermediate device, by packaging the tunneled information as a payload of a command recognizable by the intermediate device; the intermediate device can repackage and forward the payload. In some embodiments, the tunneled information relates to configuring a wireless link (e.g., a Bluetooth pairing) between the host device and the accessory.

Web page loading time may be decreased with the use of a page-maintained storage cache on a client device. In various implementations, a server may receive a request for a web page from a web browser that is on the client device. The server may provide a chunk reassembler to the client device that determines whether any chunks in the web page are already stored on the client device. Subsequently, the server may send one or more chunk of the web page to the client device when the chunk reassembler determines that the one or more chunks of the web page are missing from the client device. The chunk reassembler may then instruct the web browser to assemble the one or more received chunks with the one or more chunks that are stored on the client device into the web page for presentation on the client device.

To insure that the browser will continue transmitting data, the remote terminal generates required acknowledgment and security signals to continue the secure communication, which may then transmitted back to the computer. Meanwhile, the received protocol signals may be converted by the remote terminal for transmission through the satellite communications system in a format appropriate for that communication medium. Aspects of the invention further include a hub or similar device for communicating with the satellite communications system.

The present method and system implements a method for presenting notifications on an electronic device partitioned into two or more distinct instances, each instance being aware of separate sets of events associated to applications running in that instance.
