Both ends of the three-member mechanism are free ends, such that the left supporting plate, the middle supporting plate and the right supporting plate are flexible screen supporting members capable of moving up and down. After moving up, the left supporting plate, the middle supporting plate and the right supporting plate form a flexible screen supporting face, and after moving down, the components are in a bent state, thereby providing a space for bending of the flexible screen. After moving down, the middle supporting plate reaches a bottom portion of the middle U-shaped outer cover. The present invention can provide a larger space for bending of the flexible screen such that the middle mechanism of the hinge is not exposed after folded, and it can be used in mobile terminals such as mobile phones, e-books, and computers, enabling the mobile terminal to achieve large-screen display in a small volume.

A torque balancing device applied to synchronous dual-shaft system for making the rotary shafts bear the same torque or pressure and avoiding slippage thereof. The torque balancing device includes a first rotary shaft, a second rotary shaft and a torque balancing unit. Each of the first and second rotary shafts has a fixed section mounted on an electronic apparatus and a drive section assembled with the torque balancing unit. The torque balancing unit includes a reactor and a responder assembled with each other. Each of the reactor and the responder has wing sections for together holding the drive sections of the first and second rotary shafts in normal state. When the first and second rotary shafts rotate, the wing sections are elastically forcedly biased and opened and the reactor and the responder are moved in an axial direction relative to each other.

Electronic devices may be provided that contain multiple housing portions. The housing portions may be coupled together using hinges. The hinges may include hinges based on a three-bar linkage, hinges based on a four-bar linkage, hinges with slotted members, hinges formed from flexible support structures, and hinges based on flexible housing structures. Flexible displays may be mounted to the housing portions overlapping the hinges. When the housing portions in a device are rotated relative to each other, the flexible display may bend. The hinge may be configured to allow the flexible display to be placed in a front-to-front configuration in which an active side of the display faces itself or a back-to-back configuration. An arc-shaped part is disposed on the rotating part, and the arc-shaped part is disposed in the arc-shaped slot in a sliding manner. The constant-length unit is a long strip that has a fixed length and can be bent. A positioning end of the constant-length unit is fixedly connected to or rotationally connected to a rotating part on one side of the guide shaft, and a sliding end is connected to a rotating part on the other side of the guide shaft in a sliding manner. The description relates to hinged devices, such as hinged computing devices. One example can include a hinge assembly that rotatably secures a first portion and a second portion. The hinge assembly can define a hinge shaft. The hinge assembly can include an adjustable closed-loop friction band secured to the first portion. The adjustable closed-loop friction band can extend between an aperture end and a removable end. The removable end can include a removable torque control element having a thickness that also at least in part controls a dimension of an aperture that receives the hinge shaft and thereby controls friction between the aperture and the hinge shaft.

STANDOFF ASSISTANT SYSTEMS FOR PORTABLE COMMUNICATION DEVICES

A standoff device for assisting in maintaining a handheld portable communications device a predetermined distance away from a user's head. Some embodiments use an electronic or sonic range finder on the communications device to alarm when the device is held too close to the head. Sonic range-finder emissions are preferably at a frequency outside the range of human hearing. The electronic range finder may operate on any safe low power frequency, such as, for non-limiting example, visible light, infrared light, or radio frequency electromagnetic radiation. The standoff device may be attached to or built into the housing of the communications device or may be attached to or built into a case or cover for the communications device. 1.
