Conventional laptop computers may utilize a door-hinge style or in a bezel-behind-base style hinge to connect a display with a keyboard of the laptop computer. Typically, these hinges present a discontinuous visual impression to the user. Presenting a more continuous visual impression of the hinge to the user suggests a higher overall quality of the computing device to the user and is thus desirable to the user. The disclosed virtual pivot hinge pivots about a pivot axis running between the display and the keyboard. The hardware of the hinge is located away from the pivot axis, which creates a virtual pivoting action about the axis that maintains a consistent front gap distance (or no front gap) between the display and the keyboard. The resulting visual impression to the user is that the display is floating above keyboard at the same or similar distance regardless of the display angle.

After moving up, the left supporting plate, the middle supporting plate and the right supporting plate form a flexible screen supporting face, and after moving down, the components are in a bent state, thereby providing a space for bending of the flexible screen. After moving down, the middle supporting plate reaches a bottom portion of the middle U-shaped outer cover. The present invention can provide a larger space for bending of the flexible screen such that the middle mechanism of the hinge is not exposed after folded, and it can be used in mobile terminals such as mobile phones, e-books, and computers, enabling the mobile terminal to achieve large-screen display in a small volume.

A bendable mobile terminal comprising two bendable mechanisms , and the bendable mobile terminal being capable of being bent at the locations of the two bendable mechanisms; wherein one of the bendable mechanisms is located at a middle portion between two opposite ends of the bendable mobile terminal , and the other bendable mechanism is located at a middle portion between the one bendable mechanism and one end of the bendable mobile terminal.2. The bendable mobile terminal of claim 1 , wherein the bendable mechanism comprises n bending portions and n-1 connecting portions claim 1 , where n is an integer greater than or equal to two; two adjacent bending portions are rotatably connected through the connecting portion; the bendable mechanism is bent toward a first direction in an arc shape and positioned through the frictional force between the bending portions and the connecting portions; one side of the bendable mechanism opposite to the first direction forms a support surface.3. Electronic devices may be provided that contain multiple housing portions. The housing portions may be coupled together using hinges. The hinges may include hinges based on a three-bar linkage, hinges based on a four-bar linkage, hinges with slotted members, hinges formed from flexible support structures, and hinges based on flexible housing structures. Flexible displays may be mounted to the housing portions overlapping the hinges. When the housing portions in a device are rotated relative to each other, the flexible display may bend. The hinge may be configured to allow the flexible display to be placed in a front-to-front configuration in which an active side of the display faces itself or a back-to-back configuration. Engagement structures may be used to help the housing grip external objects and to hold the housing portions together. The present invention discloses a rotating mechanism and a foldable terminal. The rotating mechanism includes a guide shaft, at least two rotating parts, and at least two constant-length units. The rotating parts are disposed on two sides of the guide shaft. An arc-shaped slot is disposed on the guide shaft. An arc-shaped part is disposed on the rotating part, and the arc-shaped part is disposed in the arc-shaped slot in a sliding manner. The constant-length unit is a long strip that has a fixed length and can be bent. A positioning end of the constant-length unit is fixedly connected to or rotationally connected to a rotating part on one side of the guide shaft, and a sliding end is connected to a rotating part on the other side of the guide shaft in a sliding manner. A standoff device for assisting in maintaining a handheld portable communications device a predetermined distance away from a user's head. Some embodiments use an electronic or sonic range finder on the communications device to alarm when the device is held too close to the head. Sonic range-finder emissions are preferably at a frequency outside the range of human hearing. The electronic range finder may operate on any safe low power frequency, such as, for non-limiting example, visible light, infrared light, or radio frequency electromagnetic radiation. The standoff device may be attached to or built into the housing of the communications device or may be attached to or built into a case or cover for the communications device. 1. A standoff assistant for a portable communications device , comprising:a. at least one standoff, comprising a device operable to indicate a spaced-apart relationship with said portable communications device;b. at least one operational relationship between said portable communications device and said at least one standoff; andc. wherein said at least one standoff is operable, when deployed, to assist in maintaining said portable communications device a predetermined distance from a user's head when said portable communications device is in use.2.
