A mobile portable system for a user to weigh an item on a mobile device, the mobile device having a computer processor and a display screen, and a weighing platform integral to the mobile device. The weighing platform may be integral to the display screen or may be a separate piece of hardware. A selector module is provided for allowing the user of the mobile device to choose the type of the item to be weighed. A weighing module is also provided for determining the weight of the item placed by the user on the weighing platform. A visual module in communication with the weighing module is provided to display the weight of the item to the user. The selector module, the weighing module, and the display module are executed by the computer processor of the mobile device. In another embodiment, the invention includes a communications manager to send the weight and the type of the item to a marketplace over a network, the marketplace being adapted to send the real-time price back to the mobile device for further display to the user.

A display device includes first and second display panels, a first backlight assembly including a first light source that emits first light and a first reflective sheet that reflects the first light, and a second backlight assembly including a second light source that emits second light. A chromaticity coordinate region of the second light is different from a chromaticity coordinate region of the first light. The second backlight also assembly includes a second reflective sheet that reflects the second light and includes a second material different from a first material of the first reflective sheet. The first reflective sheet reflects the first light as third light toward the first display panel, and the second reflective sheet reflects the second light as fourth light toward the second display panel. A chromaticity coordinate region of the third light and a chromaticity coordinate region of the fourth light are substantially the same.

A system and method for more accurately and easily recording signatures electronically/digitally. The preferred signing experience is generating a “wet” signature by putting a pen to paper as a pen and paper are ubiquitous and portable as well as familiar to most people. The hinges may include hinges based on a three-bar linkage, hinges based on a four-bar linkage, hinges with slotted members, hinges formed from flexible support structures, and hinges based on flexible housing structures. Flexible displays may be mounted to the housing portions overlapping the hinges. When the housing portions in a device are rotated relative to each other, the flexible display may bend. The hinge may be configured to allow the flexible display to be placed in a front-to-front configuration in which an active side of the display faces itself or a back-to-back configuration. Engagement structures may be used to help the housing grip external objects and to hold the housing portions together. The hinges may be provided with rotational detents to help hold the flexible display in desired positions.

To provide a display that acts like a single display area, the device can predict motions may cross the seam and then interrelate separate inputs on separate screens. The interrelated inputs can cause display changes as if the inputs were received as a single user interaction.

The portable terminal includes a flexible display disposed on a front surface of the portable terminal and extending to a side surface of the portable terminal, the flexible display unit including a main display area on the front surface, and an auxiliary display area on the side surface; a sensor that detects a state of the portable terminal; and a controller that selectively outputs event information on the main display area or the auxiliary display area of the flexible display unit according to the detected state of the portable terminal. 1. A portable terminal comprising:a flexible display unit disposed on a front surface of the portable terminal and extending to a side surface of the portable terminal, the flexible display unit including a main display area on the front surface, and an auxiliary display area on the side surface;a sensor that detects a state of the portable terminal; anda controller that selectively outputs event information on at least one of the main display area and the auxiliary display area of the flexible display unit, according to the detected state of the portable terminal.2. The portable terminal of claim 1 , wherein the controller outputs the event information on the auxiliary display area in a format based on the detected state of the portable terminal.3.
