A frame for an image that is being currently recorded is compared at pixel level with a number of frames recorded earlier. Values adjusted upwards in the matrix are retained for a limited number of frame comparisons. A summing window is drawn over the matrix and movement is deemed to have occurred in areas where a sum from the summing window exceeds a limit value. A compensated frame is created. All pixel values in areas where the summing window exceeds the limit value are derived from the current frame. The corrected shot, comprising a plurality of frames, is then added to the preceding shot until all shots of the video have been appropriately corrected for jerkiness. A video detector that detects black frames in a video includes a grayscale converter, a parser for parsing the grayscale video into a sequence of individual frames, a sub-frame parser for parsing frames of an uneven block size into two or more sub-frames, and a DCT calculator. The detector extracts a DC component or AC component, or both, of the generated DCT and then compares them against respective threshold values. The individual frames are identified as a black frame based on a comparison between the selected component and the threshold value. Methods of detecting black frames based on DC components and AC components are also described. 1. In various embodiments, a subtitle timing application detects timing errors between subtitles and shot changes. In operation, the subtitle timing application determines that a temporal edge associated with a subtitle does not satisfy a timing guideline based on a shot change. An example method involves receiving a video frame and detecting a change in box-formatting between the video frame and a subsequent video frame. Such techniques may include determining inlier and outlier keypoints for a current frame of a video sequence based on inlier keypoints from previous frames, detecting a region of local change based on outlier keypoints of the current and previous frames, and providing an indicator of local change based on the detected region of local change. 1. A method for providing local change detection in video comprising:determining one or more inlier keypoints and one or more outlier keypoints in a current frame of a video sequence based on one or more second inlier keypoints in one or more previous frames of the video sequence;detecting a region of local change in the video sequence based on the outlier keypoints in the current frame and one or more second outlier keypoints in the one or more previous frames of the video sequence; andproviding an indicator of local change based on the detected region of local change in the video sequence.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the one or more inlier keypoints and the one or more outlier keypoints comprises claim 1 , for keypoints of the current frame claim 1 , comparing matching scores for the keypoints to a matching threshold.3. Systems, apparatuses and methods may include a source device that generates a scene change notification in response to a movement of a camera, modifies an encoding scheme associated with the video content captured by the camera in response to the scene change notification, identifies a full-frame difference threshold, wherein scene analysis information includes frame difference data, and compares the frame difference data to an intermediate threshold that is less than the full-frame difference threshold, wherein the scene change notification is generated when the frame difference data exceeds the intermediate threshold. A sink device may obtain transport quality data associated with video content, modify an output parameter of a display based on the transport quality data, determine a view perspective of a still image containing a plurality of image slices, retrieve only a subset of the plurality of image slices based on the view perspective and decode the retrieved subset. 1.
