Portable devices like mobile phones, PDA's, notebook computers, portable media players (PMP) can communicate using protocols like Bluetooth (rtm) and Wireless USB. These protocols require an initialising exchange to set up communication known as pairing, often involving authentication and the exchange of encryption keys. This pairing often occurs over out of band (OOB) channels that differ from the main wireless channel. Examples of OOB channels are infra-red (IR), inductive near field communication (NFC), wires/cables, memory cards and so forth. As devices become more complex a multiplicity of these channels may be available on each one. The invention proposes automatically sending pairing data over multiple, preferably all, channels in response to some stimulus initiating pairing. This avoids the user hassle involved in selecting an OOB channel (eg. from a list).

A process for securely pairing devices. A host device receives an input indicating a user credential for logging into the host device and initiates a scanning process for discovering target devices available for pairing with the host device. During the scanning process, the host device receives wireless pairing information from a target device. The wireless pairing information includes a unique device identifier associated with the target device and an electronic signature generated as a function of a signature key stored at the target device and the unique device identifier. Based upon the authentication query, an application installed on the mobile device can be determined to have been authenticated. In response to determining that the application installed on the mobile device has been authenticated, a temporary password can be generated at the mobile device and converted into a vibration pattern. The vibration pattern can be vibrated at the mobile device. The temporary password can be transmitted from the mobile device to the wearable device for use in authenticating the application installed on the wearable device.

An abuse-deterrent pharmaceutical composition has been developed to reduce the likelihood of improper administration of drugs, especially drugs such as opiods. In the preferred embodiment, the drug is modified to increase its lipophilicity by forming a salt between the drug and one or more fatty acids wherein the concentration of the one or more fatty acids is one to 15 times the molar amount of the active agent, preferably two to ten times the molar amount of the active agent. In one embodiment the modified drug is homogeneously dispersed within microparticles composed of a material that is either slowly soluble or not soluble in water. In some embodiments the drug containing microparticles or drug particles are coated with one or more coating layers, where at least one coating is water insoluble and preferably organic solvent insoluble. The abuse-deterrent composition prevents the immediate release of a substantial portion of drug, even if the physical integrity of the formulation is compromised (for example, by chopping with a blade or crushing) and the resulting material is placed in water, snorted, or swallowed. However, when administered as directed, the drug is slowly released from the composition as the composition is broken down or dissolved gradually within the GI tract by a combination of enzymatic degradation, surfactant action of bile acids, and mechanical erosion.

One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that , when executed by one or more processors , cause a terminal device to:obtain a first public key of a communication device;send, to the communication device via a wireless interface of the terminal device, a first authentication request generated using the first public key;receive, from the communication device via the wireless interface, a first authentication response responsive to the first authentication request;after the first authentication response is received from the communication device, generate second connection information for establishing a second wireless connection between the communication device and an external device different from the communication device;send the second connection information to the communication device via the wireless interface;after sending the second connection information to the communication device, send a query request to the communication device via the wireless interface; andafter sending the query request to the communication device, receive, from the communication device via the wireless interface, a query response responsive to the query request, in a case where the communication device establishes the second wireless connection with the external device using the second connection information.2. A device, system or method may include a body-wearable user device including a user device wireless transceiver configured to communicate directly with a secondary device wireless transceiver associated with a secondary device, a sensor configured to sense a physical motion of at least one of the user device and a body part of a user of the user device and output a signal based on the physical motion, and a processor configured, based on the output from the sensor, to cause the user device wireless transceiver to transmit to the secondary device wireless transceiver a pair signal according to a first wireless modality based, at least in part, on the signal and complete a wireless pairing between the user device wireless transceiver and the secondary device wireless transceiver according to a second wireless modality different than the first wireless modality.
