To reduce the traffic load in a cell of a cellular communication system, the cell size is reduced thus transferring traffic to adjacent cells. The quality (bit error rate or frame error rate) of a communication channel is monitored, with a deterioration in quality indicating traffic overload. Cell size is reduced by reducing the power of a pilot signal transmitted from the cell's base station or by changing the hand-off parameters (which may be set in the mobile). Adjacent cells increase in size in the same manner so that no gap in coverage is produced. According to the present invention, the cell size is varied by sending new handoff parameters to a mobile station in dependence upon the communication quality of monitored CDMA communication channels.

A method of wireless communication for a first access point (AP) , comprising:generating a spatial reuse (SR) element that includes SR information, the SR information indicating that a first group of stations (STAs) associated with a second AP may reuse resources that are used for packets transmitted by a second group of STAs associated with the first AP and indicating at least one first permitted overlapping basic service set (OBSS) threshold value for reuse of the resources over the first AP; andtransmitting the SR element that includes the SR information.2. A communication system is provided that can improve the communication capability of a communication terminal device in the case where a large number of small cells in addition to a macro cell are installed and operated. A communication terminal device (UE) is connected with a macro cell configured by a MeNB and a small cell configured by a SeNB, so that dual connectivity is performed. When receiving information for small cells, for example, emergency information from a CBC via an MME, at least one cell of the macro cell and the small cell notifies the communication terminal device connected with the at least one cell of the information for small cells. 1. A communication system comprising:a communication terminal device; anda plurality of base stations to perform radio communication with the communication terminal device,whereinthe plurality of base stations include a master base station and a secondary base station configured to provide a dual connectivity (DC) for the communication terminal device,the communication terminal device is configured to transmit a modification request for modifying at least one of a plurality of DC bearers provided by the master base station and the secondary base station, andthe master base station is configured to modify the at least one of the plurality of DC bearers upon receipt of the modification request.2. In the mobile communications system communication with a plurality of mobile terminals is provided by a base station. Within the system terminals are adapted to communicate with one or more adjacent similar terminals to establish groups of terminals, called micro-cells. Each terminal within a micro-cell receives signals from the base station and then performs a first processing step on these signals. These processed signals are shared with all the other terminals within the micro-cell. Each terminal then performs a second processing step on the information it has received from all the other terminals within the micro-cell which enables it to derive a signal intended for reception by that terminal. Efficient opportunistic communications in integrated access and backhaul (IAB) frameworks are provided allowing scheduling nodes and scheduled nodes to communicate within an allocated set of resources based on a different configuration than for non-opportunistic communications using a different set of resources. To reduce the traffic load in a cell of a cellular communication system, the cell size is reduced thus transferring traffic to adjacent cells. The quality (bit error rate or frame error rate) of a communication channel is monitored, with a deterioration in quality indicating traffic overload. Cell size is reduced by reducing the power of a pilot signal transmitted from the cell's base station or by changing the hand-off parameters (which may be set in the mobile). Adjacent cells increase in size in the same manner so that no gap in coverage is produced. According to the invention, the power level of the pilot signal is decreased to a first predetermined level when the quality of a monitored CDMA channel is below a first level and is increased to a second predetermined level when the quality is above a second level.
