Embodiments allocate subcarriers into unequal power groups, each group having a consistent subcarrier power level. Techniques for determining power relaxation values are disclosed. The power relaxation values may be determined according to an ending resource block (RB) and a number of RBs in a contiguous allocation. In one aspect, the power relaxation values are arranged into regions based, at least in part, on transmission channel bandwidths and the distance from a protected adjacent channel. A user equipment (UE) can determine a power relaxation value for its current allocation using the ending RB index and contiguous RB length and can adjust its transmission power accordingly. The invention relates to methods for informing an eNodeB on the transmit power status of a user equipment in a mobile communication system using component carrier (CC) aggregation. A direct broadcasting satellite (DBS) system features a capability of coherently combining amplified signals powers from various broadcasting transponders without modifying the satellite segment. Organized DBS transponders would function as an equivalent DBS transponder with a higher EIRP. Although 802.11ax introduces the ability for multiple devices to transmit simultaneously over a wireless channel, this feature is not used to its full potential because legacy devices transmit using turn-based communication (waiting for the channel to free up before transmitting). To create the illusion that the channel is free, in one method, an 802.11ax access point lowers the power for 802.11ax transmissions in a portion of a wireless channel being utilized by the legacy device. In another method, the 802.11ax access point blanks the portion of the wireless channel altogether (i.e., does not schedule transmissions over the portion). As a result of these methods, signal interference is reduced, and legacy devices do not halt transmissions to follow turn-based communication. 1. The invention relates to methods for informing an eNodeB on the transmit power status of a user equipment in a mobile communication system using component carrier (CC) aggregation. Methods are disclosed for scheduling resources in a wireless backhaul network comprising a plurality of N Hubs, each Hub serving a plurality of K Remote Backhaul Modules (RBMs), using a coordinated power zone assignment across the backhaul network. For each Hub, a one-to-one power zone assignment, of each of the K RBM to one of the K power zones, is computed by maximizing a selected network utility across the backhaul network. Coordinated power zone assignment according to preferred embodiments based on the auction approach offers a close-to-global-optimal solution. Coordinated scheduling based on first assigning RBMs to hubs heuristically, and then optimally scheduling RBMs within each hub also offers significant performance improvement as compared to non-coordinated systems. Preferred embodiments offer a significant performance improvement as compared to conventional systems. They are low in complexity, and compatible with the physical constraints of SFR-based wireless backhaul network, which make them amenable to practical implementation.

A base station and a UE transmit some or all data using sub-band position modulation (SBPM), in which a select subset of frequency sub-bands carry the data transmission.
