In hot strip plants, after casting, the residual heat of a partial quantity of the slabs has hitherto been used such that the slabs either are directly rolled or are placed warm or hot in the furnace. The remaining slabs normally cool after casting in a hall through which flows air and are stacked before their further transport. The same applies to the residual heat present in the coils after winding, which often cool in the coil-storage area in air. The cooling energy of the continuous-casting plant likewise escapes unused into the surroundings. In order to convert this unused solidification heat and residual heat into electric energy, it is proposed according to the invention that the slabs ( 10 ) are cast in a continuous-casting plant and the slabs ( 10 ) or coils are transported into the slab-storage area ( 12 ) or coil-storage area and during the casting in heat exchangers ( 31 ) and/or during the transport in heat exchangers ( 31 ) heat is extracted and/or there are deposited in part one on top of the other in specially prepared storage areas ( 30 ) provided with heat exchangers ( 31 ) for a short time or several hours, wherein in this transport period the cast billet or the slab ( 10 ) and/or in the storage period the residual heat of the slabs ( 10 ) or coils is transferred via heat conduction and thermal radiation and convection via the heat exchangers ( 31 ) into a heat-transfer medium such as, for example, thermal oil, and heats it, which then is discharged via heat-transfer transport lines ( 33 ) for power generation and/or direct use of the process heat by other heat consumers.

The present invention relates to a power generating system which can recover exhaust heat from a working fluid of a fluid coupling and utilize the recovered exhaust heat to generate power. In the power generating system, water is supplied to a boiler ( 1 ) by a feed pump (BP) to generate steam, a steam turbine ( 2 ) is driven by using the generated steam to generate power, the steam discharged from the steam turbine ( 2 ) is condensed in a condenser ( 4 ), and then the condensed water is resupplied to the boiler ( 1 ) by the feed pump (BP). The power generating system includes a fluid coupling ( 10 ) provided between the feed pump (BP) and a motor (M) to transmit a torque from the motor (M) to the feed pump (BP) by a working fluid, and the condensed water supplied from the condenser ( 4 ) is heated by the working fluid discharged from the fluid coupling ( 10 ).

According to an embodiment, management server includes estimator, scheduler, acquisition unit, monitoring unit, receiver and setting unit. Estimator calculates estimated value of energy demand in building with electric appliance. Scheduler creates schedule of appliance based on estimated value. Acquisition unit acquires actual value of energy demand. Monitoring unit monitors error between estimated value and actual value. Receiver receives DR signal containing information which prompts suppression of energy consumption in a designated period. Setting unit sets threshold. Estimator recalculates estimated value if error is equal or more than threshold. Scheduler reforms schedule based on the recalculated estimated value.

The present invention provides a system and a method for real time monitoring and identifying defects occurring in a three dimensional object build via an additive manufacturing process. Further, the present invention provides in-situ correction of such defects by a plurality of functional tool heads possessing freedom of motion in arbitrary planes and approach, where the functional tool heads are automatically and independently controlled based on a feedback analysis from the printing process, implementing analyzing techniques. Furthermore, the present invention provides a mechanism for analyzing defected data collected from detection devices and correcting tool path instructions and object model in-situ during construction of a 3D object. A build report is also generated that displays, in 3D space, the structural geometry and inherent properties of a final build object along with the features of corrected and uncorrected defects. Advantageously, the build report helps in improving 3D printing process for subsequent objects. 121-. (canceled)22.
