In certain embodiments, anaerobic methane extraction takes place for a period of time (e.g., from 1 to 4 weeks), after which an aerobic composting process begins in the same chamber. The organic waste remains in place and oxygen (e.g., in air) is forced into the chamber for an additional period of time (e.g., from 2 to 4 weeks). At the conclusion of the aerobic phase, the process yields a rough compost product that is stable and pathogen free. The rough compost can be further processed and blended to create high value engineered soils.

The disclosed processes can produce clean power from biomass. Co-products include fermentation products such as ethanol, fertilizers, and lignin.

The method for producing a granulated organomineral fertilizer from organic waste materials comprises feeding the mixture components, removing mechanical impurities, mixing with the addition of mineral components, grinding, decontaminating, homogenizing, granulating and drying. The grinding, decontamination, homogenization and granulation processes are performed simultaneously on continuously operating heated rollers with the mass to be processed being passed through shaping rings of the rollers and with cutting to form granules. The granules are dried to a set moisture content in a continuously operating heated vacuum dryer operating in pulsed vacuum modes. The device for producing a granulated organomineral fertilizer from organic waste materials consists of means for feeding the mixture components, removing mechanical impurities, mixing, grinding, decontaminating, homogenizing, granulating and drying. The means for grinding, decontaminating, homogenizing and granulating are in the form of one or more healed horizontal rollers mounted parallel to one another. Shaping rings with blades for cutting the granules to size are provided on the ends of the rollers. The drying means is in the form of a continuously operating heated vacuum dryer, which is connected by a pipeline with quick-response valves to a receiver end a vacuum pump. The invention makes it possible to reduce the amount of time required for running the process cycle and to produce granules with improved use properties.

This object is achieved firstly by using a biomass having a lignin content of 10 to 30% by weight and a water content of 5 to 25% by weight, and by virtue of a heat treatment process comprising three residence times each on a respective level of temperature, wherein the first residence time lasts between 10 and 40 minutes, particularly of 30 minutes at a temperature level between 130 and 280° C., particularly of 250° C.; the second residence time lasts between 5 and 30 minutes, particularly of 10 minutes at a temperature level between 300 and 500° C., particularly of 400° C.; the third residence time lasts between 10 and 60 minutes, particularly of 20 minutes at a temperature level between 650 and 900° C., preferred between 700 and 900° C., particularly of 750° C.

Processes for manufacturing organic fertilizer products, such as liquid and solid organic fertilizer, from animal manure are disclosed, together with the fertilizer products produced therefrom. 1. A method for recovering a nutrient comprising:(a) heating and aerating anaerobic digester effluent in an aeration reactor to convert soluble ammonium to gaseous ammonia;(b) providing gaseous ammonia from the aeration reactor to a stripping tower, said stripping tower providing controlled amounts of acid that reacts with gaseous ammonia; and(c) recovering an ammonium salt produced from reacting the acid with gaseous ammonia in the stripping tower.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein heating the anaerobic digester effluent comprises using a heat exchanger with the exhaust from a biogas engine gen set as the heated air stream.3. The method of claim 1 , wherein heating the anaerobic digester effluent comprises heating the effluent to a temperature from about 140° F. to about 170° F.4. The method of claim 1 , wherein aerating the anaerobic digester effluent is accomplished using micro-aerators that aerate the effluent at a rate from 5 gallons/cfm to 25 gallons/cfm.5. The method contains the following steps. In step A, supersonic waves are applied to Mountain Litsea fruits for excitation and sterilization. In step B, the inferior fruits and the cleaning water are removed from the water tank, placed in a fermentative tank, and left for fermentation. After the fermentation, a pressing and separation process is conducted. In step C, the superior fruits are placed in a separate fermentative tank for fermentation into mofetil alcohol. In step D, the superior fruits are alternatively mixed with pure water, crushed, and placed in a boiler for aging and sterilization. Then the crushed and aged fruits are placed in yet another fermentative tank with pure water for fermentation. After the fermentation, a pomace separation process is conducted. A method for sterilization of pathogenic waste includes steps of introducing animal tissues, carcasses or parts, pathogenic waste, or by-products of slaughter or processing into an unpressurized vessel, adding NaOH and KOH in a ratio of about 2.2 to 2.3:1, adding water sufficient to create a 1.5 to 1.6 Molar solution, such that the tissue to water ratio is about 1:1.5, heating the vessel indirectly to near but below the boiling point of the solution, holding the temperature for about 16-20 hours, while continuously agitating the contents of the vessel, displacing the solution volume in the reaction vessel about every 2-3 minutes. Optimally, the tissue is introduced into the vessel first, then dry NaOH and KOH, and finally water. The end product is a homogenous, aqueous solution that is sterile, pathogen-free and suitable for land application or mixing directly into manure retention vessels, prior to land application of the mixture.

The carboxylic groups of a [P(OA)] that can exist within the [P(OA)] as carboxylic acids, carboxylic anhydrides and/or carboxylic imides, dispersed within the NOSDS, can be neutralized with one or more metals in the form of elemental metals, metal oxides, metal hydroxides, metal alkylates and metal carbonates and/or nitrogen containing compounds such as ammonia, ammonium hydroxide or organoamines to form a stable dispersion that can contain completely complexed micronutrients and provide the vehicle for the delivery of these nutrients to soils and/or as a coating to the surfaces fertilizer granules and seeds.

Melanin or inorganic fertilizers are produced from fermentation leachates or from low-cost nutrient-rich solutions. The method for producing the melanin or inorganic fertilizer comprises repetitive trophic cycling in the controlled conditions of primary and secondary bioreactors. Nutrients are cycled between microorganisms such as bacteria, yeast and fungi and black soldier fly larvae, . Polysaccharides are partly converted into natural melanins or inorganic fertilizer, which are difficult to biodegrade and hence accumulate in the bioreactors. The method can employ, as a source of nutrients, leachates produced from food waste or from sugar-rich liquid waste of the food industry. These leachates can be used raw or can be augmented with low-cost sugar-rich solutions such as molasses, hydrolyzed cellulose or starch. The method is inexpensive and does not require the use of expensive chemically-defined culture media. 1.
