The present disclosure provides a hood assembly for a vehicle having a hood coupled to the vehicle and pivotal between open and closed positions. A contoured lever is movably disposed between the hood and the vehicle, and a slot having first and second ends is formed within the lever. A lock detent formed within the contoured lever is in communication with the second end of the slot, and a pin mounted to a portion of the vehicle is slidably received within the slot. When the hood is opened, the pin is received within the lock detent, thereby locking the hood in the open position. The hood assembly also includes a release handle pivotally secured to the lever that is sized and configured to engage the pin when the pin is positioned within the slot.

DOOR SECURITY SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING SAME

A door security system is provided which is used to prevent a door, which separates first and second spaces, from opening. The door security system includes a security apparatus which is configured to be engaged with the floor within a first space. If the door is to be opened into the first space, the security apparatus blocks the door from opening into the first space. If the door is to be opened into the second space, an attachment assembly of the door security system acts in concert with the attachment assembly to block the door from opening into the second space. The door security system further includes a release mechanism which can be manipulated from the second space to disengage the security apparatus within the first space, thereby allowing for the door to be opened into either the first or second spaces, as appropriate.

A strut for holding a door in closed position, the strut comprising a tube and a rod threaded together so that the length of the strut is adjustable. The strut connects to a door bracket at two spaced locations whereby the strut is held in a fixed angular position relative to the door when in operating position. There is also a lock nut for locking the rod and tube to the adjusted length, a floor engaging pad swivelly connected to the tube, and one of the connections to the door bracket can be disengaged to permit swinging of the strut into a stored position against the door.

A glove box structure uses clip members fixed to a glove box slidably engaging arms that extend inwardly from a lid. The disclosure relates to a system of storage components which can be converted to a desk. A storage member of orthogonal configuration has a top portion releasably secured to a bottom portion. Separable fastener enable the top portion to be removed and reattached to the bottom portion to form a desk. Additional support is provided to support the portion of the desk distal to the interface of the top and bottom portion where attached by the separable fastener. A sash window restrictor 20, 120, has a housing 22, 122, which is to be let into a vertical frame member (10, fig.1) to limit movement of a sash window. A sash obstructing tab 24, 124, is mounted in the housing and obstructing tab can be retracted into the housing so as not to block a sash or extended from the housing to stop a sash. A mechanism acts between the tab and the housing and allows the tab to be pressed into the housing and held in the housing for a period of time before the tab is released to allow the tab to extend. The sash abutting tab may be mounted for pivotal or sliding movement and may be spring biased into the extended blocking position or moved due to gravity. The obstructing tab may be positively held in the retracted position by a latch mechanism such as a push-push mechanism whereby a first push withdraws the tab and a second push extends the tab; the second push either being manually pressed by an operator or actuated automatically by the passing of a window to the closed position to automatically release and extend the tab blocking subsequent movement toward the open position. A timing mechanism may be used to provide a predetermined delay prior to releasing the tab from the retracted position. Instead of a latching mechanism the tab may comprise a damping means to slow the movement of the tab and provide a delay between movement from the retracted position to the extended position. A second lock may be provided to lock the tab in the extended position. The pivotal embodiment may have multiple coil spring biased sprocket wheels and include a clutch mechanism.

The invention relates to an apparatus which automatically locks the hood of a vehicle in a position which allows access to the engine. The invention includes a swing arm which is spring loaded and pivotally connected to the support structure of the vehicle, like the vehicle frame, near the hood hinge and away from the engine. When the hood is opened and the hood hinge pivots, the swing arm automatically follows the hood hinge until the swing arm reaches a position which prevents the hood hinge from pivoting in a direction which would result in the hood closing. In this way the invention automatically locks the hood to prevent premature hood closure which could injure the driver or maintenance personnel.

SUPPORT ARM WITH PASSIVE LOCK SYSTEM

A support arm for a pivoted window to hold the window open until such time as the locking mechanism for the window is manually released. A door security system is provided which is used to prevent a door, which separates first and second spaces, from opening. The door security system includes a security apparatus which is configured to be engaged with the floor within a first space. A method of operating a window having a sash and a window opening limit device includes moving the sash from a closed position to a limited position. When in the limited position, the window opening limit device is in a projected position, and the sash is engaged with the window opening limit device. Moving the window opening limit device to a retracted position disengages the sash and the window opening limit device. The sash may then be moved from the limited position to an open range. When the sash is returned to the closed position, the window opening limit device automatically returns to the projected position, and the sash is disengaged with the window opening limit device.

A multi-function door stop is provided comprising a first vertical plate for mounting to a wall and a second horizontal plate affixed to and extending outwardly from the first plate. A hollow elongated tube extends outwardly in a direction away from the second plate in a normal position substantially perpendicular to the first plate. An extension member is interposed between the second plate and the elongated tube, the extension member being fixedly secured at one end to the second plate. In use, the door stop remains in its normal position until the elongated tube is struck by an object, such as a vacuum cleaner or mop.
