Disclosed is a method for extracting vitamin E from cottonseed oil. The method comprises adding absolute ethanol and anhydrous sodium sulphate into cottonseed oil , and boiling; pouring the boiled cottonseed oil into a separating funnel, sealing and standing; adding NaOH and ascorbic acid into the separated ethanol phase, and introducing nitrogen; adding pure water and n-hexane into saponified solution, pouring the mixed solution into the separating funnel after fully and uniformly mixing, sealing and standing, so as to obtain a n-hexane phase containing vitamin E; removing water soluble impurities; freezing the water-washed n-hexane phase at the temperature of -10℃, and finally separating out precipitate formed at the low temperature; placing the obtained n-hexane phase into a rotary evaporator, reducing pressure to vacuum pressure ranging from 2 to 3 mmHg, distilling out water vapor, thereby obtaining a concentrated solution, namely the target product vitamin E.
