Aspects herein relate to a recoverable asymmetrically facing composite nonwoven fabric suitable for use in apparel and other articles and methods of producing the same. In an example aspect, an asymmetrically facing composite nonwoven fabric includes a first face formed at least in part from a first entangled web and an opposing second face formed at least in part from a second entangled web. When incorporated into an article of apparel, the first face forms an outwardly facing surface of the article of apparel and the second face forms an inwardly facing surface of the article of apparel. The first face includes features such as wear resistance that make it suitable for forming an outwardly facing surface, and the second face includes features such as soft texture that make it suitable for forming an inwardly facing surface.
