The purpose of the present invention is to provide a modified polytetrafluoroethylene fine powder for obtaining an oriented body having high strength, small pore size, and excellent homogeneity. The present invention is a modified polytetrafluoroethylene fine powder characterized by having non-molten secondary workability, having a standard specific gravity of 2.155 or lower, containing 0.015 mol% or more polymerized units from perfluoro(methylvinylether) relative to the total monomer units, being obtained by emulsion copolymerization of tetrafluoroethylene and at least perfluoro(methylvinylether) in the presence of a fluorine-containing surfactant having a Log POW of 3.4 or less, and having an extrusion pressure of 20.0 MPa or lower.
