The invention provides an imaging type distance measuring sensor and a distance measuring method. The camera shooting type distance measuring sensor comprises an optical lens, a CCD chip, a processor and a sensor shell. The optical lens is arranged on the sensor shell and is used for focusing the light which is emitted by the parallel light source and is not shielded by the measured object on the CCD chip; light beams emitted by the parallel light source are parallel to the central axis of the sensor; a measured object is arranged between the parallel light source and the optical lens; the CCD chip is arranged in the sensor shell and used for receiving the light focused by the optical lens and outputting pulse signals generated by pixels sensing the light to the processor; and the processor is arranged in the sensor shell and is used for counting the pulse signals and determining the offset of the edge of the measured object relative to the central axis of the sensor based on a counting ...
