The disclosure relates to a reticle, and particularly a reticle having a marking feature that is translucent. A marking feature may be made from an etched pattern, a gradient, a coating, paint, a filament, or a combination thereof. Reticles may also include an additional feature, such as a center dot, crosshairs, range estimation feature, drop estimation feature, wind point-of-impact estimation feature, moving target point-of-impact feature, and combinations thereof. The additional feature may, but is not required to be, translucent. 1. A reticle comprising a primary marking feature that is translucent.2. The reticle of claim 1 , wherein the primary marking feature is made from an etched pattern claim 1 , a gradient claim 1 , a coating claim 1 , paint claim 1 , a filament claim 1 , or combination thereof.3. The reticle of claim 1 , wherein the primary marking feature is etched with a pattern.4. The reticle of claim 2 , wherein the pattern is a crosshatch pattern.5. The reticle of claim 1 , wherein the primary marking feature is selected from the group consisting of crosshairs claim 1 , duplex crosshairs claim 1 , post reticle claim 1 , German reticle claim 1 , ring reticle claim 1 , triangle reticle claim 1 , broken circle claim 1 , and combinations thereof.6. The reticle of further including an additional element selected from the group consisting of center dot claim 1 , crosshairs claim 1 , range estimation feature claim 1 , drop estimation feature claim 1 , wind point-of-impact estimation feature claim 1 , moving target point-of-impact feature claim 1 , and combinations thereof.7. The reticle of claim 6 , wherein the additional element is not translucent.8. The reticle of claim 6 , wherein the additional element is translucent.9. The reticle of claim 1 , wherein the amount of light passing through the primary marking feature is from less than 100% to greater than or equal to 60%.10.
