A computer system processes transaction data about a customer's purchase. The computer system may access green index data that includes information about environmentally green purchases for green purchases. Based on comparing the green index data and the transaction data, an award may be provided to the customer in accordance with at least one purchase criterion, such as the purchase price and/or the degree of greenness of the purchased item. The account data for the customer is consequently updated for the award. The green index data may be derived by obtaining a list of candidate merchants and by comparing characteristics of a candidate merchant with at least one green factor. The candidate merchant may then be included in the green index data when a merchant score is greater than a predetermined score, where the merchant score may be based on the green characteristics of the candidate merchant.

The resilient valve is located, enclosed, or compressed between the top and base portions when the top and base are connected. The top and base can be connected with threads, tongue and groove structures etc. When subjected to the centrifugal force of a spin cycle, the movement of the counterweight within the device causes the resilient disk to unseat from between the top and base allowing fluid communication between the dispenser and the tub of the washing machine. Optionally, the dispenser can have an elliptical cross section to promote proper orientation of the dispenser during the spin and rinse cycles. Further, a protective material can be affixed to the outer surfaces of the top and base portions of the dispenser.

Headphone level protection circuit

Номер: EP0095902A1
Принадлежит: British Broadcasting Corp

A headphone level protection circuit provides hearing protection for the user of headphones (12) and has input terminals (10) connected to an audio signal source (20) and output terminals (11) for connection to the headphones (12), with a series resistance (1) between them. A first threshold circuit (9) responds to the input signal instantaneously exceeding a maximum level to provide a first control signal to an OR-gate (8). A second threshold circuit (7) responds to the input signal exceeding a second lower maximum level for a longer duration to provide a second control signal to the OR-gate. The second threshold circuit (7) receives the input signal after spectrum shaping, firstly in an «A» weighting circuit (3) and secondly in a circuit (4) which mimics the headphone response, followed by rectification (5) and averaging or integration (6) for a desired time period, this being effective over both half-cycles of the audio signal. A controlled electronic switch (2) constituted by one or more triacs or transistors is connected across the output terminals to reduce the signal applied to the output such as to provide foldback limiting. The whole circuit receives its power from the input signal without the need for an auxiliary power source. Thermistors may be included to reduce the power dissipation after triggering has occurred.

The second pair of rolls (draw rolls) is driven at a peripheral speed greater than that of the first pair of rolls (feed roll and its associated separator roll). The feed roll is maintained at a given temperature which is correlated with other processing conditions to impart a desired level of latent crimp to the yarn.
