Ensemble prêt à monter, des pièces permettant de barrer un torrent pour maintenir un passage à gué à niveau fixe. L’invention s’applique à des torrents de montagne qui n’ont pas atteint leur profil d’équilibre et creusent leur lit à chaque crue, empêchant ainsi qu’un passage à gué stable permette de les traverser. L’ensemble est installé dans une tranchée provisoire et comporte des poteaux en forme de H (1) sur semelle, séparés par des madriers de mélèze non jointifs (9) et recouverts par une lierne de liaison (4) clavetée sur lesdits poteaux constituant la paroi verticale perméable de la structure. La tranchée étant remblayée sur ladite paroi installée on vient accrocher des tôles (3) constituant un déversoir qui projette l’eau du torrent vers l’aval et empêche l’affouillement au pied du dispositif. Cet équipement permet de conserver un niveau fixe au passage à gué, ce qui est l’objet de l’invention. The invention applies to mountain streams which have not reached their equilibrium profile and dig their beds with each flood, thus preventing a stable fording from crossing them. The assembly is installed in a provisional trench and comprises H-shaped posts (1) on a sole, separated by non-contiguous larch planks (9) and covered by a connecting rod (4) keyed on said posts constituting the permeable vertical wall of the structure. Since the trench is backfilled on said installed wall, sheets (3) are attached, constituting a weir which projects the water from the torrent downstream and prevents scouring at the foot of the device. A device for anchoring the end of a twisted-strand cable comprises a set of three 120-deg. split taper collets forming a truncated cone which is drawn into a cavity of similar form by the tension in the cable. The end side faces of the collets are radial helicoidal surfaces which correspond in pitch to that of the cable strands. The internal surface has helical grooves with the same pitch, but slightly smaller radius than the cable strands. The collets are pref. formed from sintered metallic powder, giving an irregular surface with improved grip on the cable. The assembled collets can be driven along the cable by a bearing bush which allows them to rotate and screw themselves along the cable strands.

The invention relates to a device intended for anchoring a cable in a retention block which has a recessed seat which is at least partly frustoconical, this device comprising a slotted frustoconical jaw (4) consisting of a number of wedge elements (41, 42, 43) which are intended to be arranged around the cable in the recessed seat of the retention block, and to cooperate with this recessed seat in order to clamp the cable after it has been tensioned. According to the invention, this device additionally comprises an insert (5) which is made of a material different from that of the jaw and which is designed to be interposed between the jaw and the cable by adhering to the jaw and to the cable. Thus, the characteristics of friction of the insert on the cable are independent of the material of the jaw, which fact makes it possible in particular to fix very hard cables, or cables subjected to very great dynamic stresses, depending on the material used for the insert.

Construction of suspended bridges or roofs with two masts

The construction has two or more masts (2), a load bearing cable (3) extending between two anchor points (5) on the ground and supported by the masts. The structure (1) is suspended from the load bearing cable by suspension rods (4), each attached to a ring (A1-An etc.) clamped around the cable (3). Each clamping ring is subjected to a load by its suspension rod which is tangential to the load bearing cable (3). To reduce this load there are one or more smaller, linking cables (10, 11, 12) with sections which extend to between clamping rings (A1 etc.). These sections are attached rigidly to the mast and the clamping rings and are successively less tensioned the further they are from the mast. The linking cable exercises a compensating force on the clamping rings to which is attached which partially compensates for the tangential load on the clamping rings. Pref. the cable (3) has a sheath (9) of high density polyethylene.

Steel cable with individually protected strands for suspended systems

The steel cable consists of strands made from twisted steel wires (7) inside an outer sleeve (9) of a flexible plastic. The wires are fitted inside the sleeve with spaces which are filled with a protective material (8). The sleeve (9) is made from a plastic selected from polyolefins and polyamides, such as high-density polyethylene, and the protective filler is an elastomer such as polybutadiene. The cable strand is made by coating the steel wires in the protective material, leaving no gaps between them. The outer surface of the protective material is coated with an agent which enables it to adhere to the outer sleeve by chemical interaction. The adhesive agent is, for example, from ethylene - acrylic ester - maleic anhydride terpolymers of polyethylenes.

The invention relates to a device for connecting together, end to end, two cables 4 and 12 with a plurality of strands 5 and 11 which are capable for generating respectively prestressing forces on two concrete sections 1 and 13 made in succession and forming part of an "advancing" construction, comprising a perforated disc 21 serving as an anchoring means for the strands 5 of the primary cable 4, a ring notched radially at 10 serving as an anchoring means for the strands 11 of the secondary cable 12 and a load-transferring sleeve 20 inserted axially between the disc and the first section 1. The sleeve 20 comprises a distributing footing 19 which bears directly against the concrete 2 making up the primary section 1 and is sufficiently wide to distribute, by itself, the prestressing force in this concrete.

An anchorage for a tensioning cable (1), comprising a bearer plate (5), a convex spherical bearing surface (17) forming part of the anchoring head (2) of the cable and adapted to co-operate with an annular bearing surface (8) of the bearer plate, and a draw jack (11) arranged to surround the anchoring head, characterised in that it further includes an annular shoulder piece (9) carried on the free end of the anchoring head and located with respect to the bearer plate by a second convex spherical bearing surface (10) concentric with the first mentioned said surface (7), and in that the jack (11) is interposed between the bearer plate (5) and the shoulder piece (9) and has a concave sphérical bearing surface (14) adapted to co-operate in the manner of a joint with the convex spherical bearing surface (10) of the shoulder piece, whereby to allow the shoulder piece to slide under load with respect to the jack.

The cable lines (1) forming the stay cable, mounted so as to be able to work and to be dismantled independently of one another, each consist of an assembly of parallel or twisted steel wires, surrounded by a sheath (3) in polyethylene, polyamide or a corrosion-resistant metal, with interposition of a filling material, such as an epoxy-type resinous pitch, or a wax. The ends of the cable lines (1), stripped of their sheaths (3) for their individual anchoring on a perforated block (6) are embedded in a protective grease. The grease chamber (A), formed by a sleeve (7) connected to the anchoring block (6), is closed by a stuffing-box seal (8) traversed by the cable lines (1), which are sheathed again, and comprising an outer plate (82) which, controlled by clamping rods (10) which can be actuated from outside the anchoring block (6), presses an elastomer cushion (83) against an inner plate (81) bearing on spacer rings (11) arranged in the chamber (A). <IMAGE>

Le dispositif comprend un collier formé de deux coquilles (10a, 10b), prévu pour la liaison avec l'élément transmetteur de charge. Le câble comporte un ensemble de brins tendus contenus, au droit du collier dans une matrice comblant les interstices entre les brins. Cette matrice est, en totalité ou en partie, en une matière de plastique susceptible de fluer sous l'action du serrage du collier. Le serrage est exercé au moyen d'éléments de forme allongée (17) transmettant un effort de serrage aux coquilles du collier. Ces éléments de forme allongée sont contraints de façon à présenter une déformation élastique longitudinale très supérieur au tassement maximal par fluage de la matrice. On évite ainsi des deserrages intempestifs du collier.

For stressing the second end of a tendon (1) whose first end is already anchored on a first bearing surface of a rigid structure (5), with a view to anchoring this second end on a second bearing surface (3) of the said structure after stressing of the said tendon, use is made of a device comprising a longitudinal stressing jack (V1) whose stationary element (9) is capable of bearing on the second bearing surface (3), a first temporary clamping jaw (30) of the above second end, which jaw is integral with the axially movable element (10, 11) of the jack, and a second temporary clamping jaw (20) of the abovementioned second end, which jaw is integral with the fixed element (9) of the jack. The two jaws work in succession in order to grip the tendon to be stressed during the to-and-fro action of the stressing jack and the clamping pressure of their jaws (32, 22) is applied to the tendon in exclusively transverse directions. <IMAGE>
