An image acquisition and processing system includes an image sensor and one or more processors that are configured to receive at least a portion of at least one image from the image sensor. The dynamic aim of the image sensor is configured as a function of at least one feature extracted from at least a portion of an image. To accomplish the task, the system utilizes a series of adaptive thresholds used in parallel comparators to determine whether or not a pixel in a given image scene falls on the edge of a given lane line on a road. The location of the lane lines are then used to determine the scene vanishing point, which ideally will be co-located at the optical scene center. If they are not in agreement, the pixel data set being processed can be adjusted to accommodate for any disagreement. 1. A vehicular imaging system comprising:at least one image sensor;at least one processor configured to receive at least a portion of at least one image from the at least one image sensor such that a dynamic aim of the at least one image sensor is configured as a function of a lane marker detected from at least one threshold in the at least one image; andwherein the at least one processor is further configured to generate at least one vehicle equipment control signal as a function of the lane marker.2. In the method described, the glycerin water (fresh water) produced in the high-pressure decomposition of natural fats and oils using steam to give fatty acids and glycerin is continuously purified. Using a plate-type phase separator, fatty-matter droplets with a diameter greater than 100 mu m are separated from the aqueous phase and fed back to the high-pressure decomposition stage. The aqueous phase pre-purified in this way is then passed as a cross-current flow over a filtration membrane, in particular a microfiltration membrane, and the concentrate fed back to the phase-separator input. This method enables large, industrial-scale quantities of glycerin water to be purified efficiently and particularly inexpensively on a continuous basis, even when the source of supply changes frequently.

A process is provided for simultaneously recovering tocopherol and sterol from a mixture containing tocopherol, fats and/or fat derivatives, more particularly fatty acids, and sterol and/or sterol derivatives, more particularly from a steamer distillate of natural oils and fats. The steps of said process comprise: free fatty acids present in the mixture are esterified with a lower alcohol, preferably methanol, 0.4 to 1.6 and more particularly 1 to 1.5 parts by volume of mixture being esterified with 1 part by volume of the lower alcohol, the mixture is subsequently transesterified with the lower alcohol in the presence of a basic catalyst, the excess lower alcohol is distilled off from the reaction mixture after the transesterification, the transesterification catalyst and the glycerol optionally present are removed, more particularly by washing, the fatty acid alkyl ester is distilled off from the mixture, more particularly after removal of the transesterification catalyst, and if desired, tocopherol and sterol are separated by methods known per se. After the transesterification reaction, the alkali catalyst is preferably neutralized with an inorganic acid and the mixture is then washed with water.

An automated xeroradiographic processor particularly for use in intraoral dental radiography. The imaging process is based on xeroradiographic principles, the surface of a small photoconductive plate being electrically-charged. After insertion into a carrier, to form a light-tight cassette (16), the photoconductive plate is placed in a patient's mouth and x-ray exposed. The cassette (16), and the resultant electrostatic charge image therein, is inserted into the system processor (10), the photoconductive plate removed and transported to a developer station (30) wherein the image is developed using liquid toner. The toner image is then dried (at40) and transferred (at 50) from the photoconductive plate by using a transparent adhesive material and fixed to a white plastic substrate, forming an image carrier wherein the image can be viewed in reflectance or transmittance. After cleaning (means 60) the photoconductive plate is available for reuse. The developed xeroradiographic images are exposed and processed sequentially, processing time being approximately 20 seconds.

Epoxidation is carried out using an aqueous acid phase containing at most about 10% by weight of peracetic acid, and the peracetic acid content in the aqueous acid phase is reduced by at most about 50%, based on the peracetic acid content of the aqueous acid phase used, after a single passage through the epoxidation stage. After separation from the oil phase, the aqueous acid phase preferably is cooled before regeneration.

A method for separating fatty substance mixtures into components of different melting points by the "Rewetting or Hydrophilization Process," with the heat removal necessary for cooling and crystallizing higher melting fatty substance fractions being obtained essentially by vacuum evaporation of an aqueous, non-surface-active electrolyte solution in direct contact with the fatty substance mixture. THE PRIOR ART The separation of fatty acid mixtures or of fatty acid ester mixtures into components of different melting points by a wetting agent process is known from U.S. Pat. No. 2,800,493, July 23, 1957, Stein et al. This process has become known as the "Rewetting or Hydrophilization Process." According to this patent, a mixture of solid and oily fatty substance particles is transformed by means of a wetting agent solution, optionally containing non-surface-active electrolyte, into a dispersion of separate solid and oily fatty substance particles. This dispersion is separated by means of solid jacket centrifuges into an oily phase and an aqueous phase containing the solid fatty substance particles in dispersion. The heat removal necessary for the crystallization of the solid fatty substance particles is obtained by cooling devices, in particular scraping condensers. After termination of the separating process, the recovered wetting agent solution is recycled. German Pat. No. 1,010,062, or U.S. Pat. No. 2,972,636, Stein et al, describes a corresponding process for the separation of fatty alcohols. The essential disadvantages of the above mentioned processes are the high investment and operating costs for cooling equipment and cooling devices.
