A method of manufacturing a quantum dot layer, and a quantum dot optoelectronic device including the quantum dot layer. The method includes sequentially stacking a self-assembled monolayer, a sacrificial layer, and a quantum dot layer on a source substrate; disposing a stamp on the quantum dot layer; picking up the sacrificial layer, the quantum dot layer and the stamp; and removing the sacrificial layer from the quantum dot layer using a solution that dissolves the sacrificial layer. 1. A method of manufacturing a quantum dot layer , the method comprising:sequentially stacking a self-assembled monolayer (SAM), a sacrificial layer, and a quantum dot layer on a source substrate;disposing a stamp on the quantum dot layer;picking up the sacrificial layer, the quantum dot layer, and the stamp; andremoving the sacrificial layer from the quantum dot layer using a solution that dissolves the sacrificial layer.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the quantum dot layer is formed on the sacrificial layer through a solution process.3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the sacrificial layer is a polymer-based high molecular weight material.4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the solution is a polarizable solution.5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the quantum dot layer comprises a plurality of quantum dots arranged in a two-dimensional array.6. The method of claim 1 , wherein when the sacrificial layer claim 1 , the quantum dot layer claim 1 , and the stamp are picked up claim 1 , the sacrificial layer is separated from the SAM.7. A homogenous thin film layer is patterned into a transparent conductive portion and a non-conductive portion without use of etching through the thin film. Instead, conductive fine-wires which are convertible in one embodiment into non-conductive fine-wires are selectively converted into the non-conductive form. In an alternate embodiment, the homogenous thin film layer which includes conductive fine-wires is provided in a curable liquid form and selected portions of the liquid formed are cured into being affixed to substrate. Remaining portions can be washed away. A liquid crystal display includes a transparent insulation substrate, a first polarizer, and a semiconductor layer, a thin film transistor, and a backlight unit. The first polarizer is disposed on the transparent insulation substrate. The first polarizer includes a light blocking film and metal wires. The semiconductor layer, disposed on the light blocking film, has a perimeter aligned with a perimeter of the light blocking film. The thin film transistor, disposed on the semiconductor layer, includes a source region and a drain region disposed in the semiconductor layer. The backlight unit, disposed under the transparent insulation substrate, provides light to the transparent insulation substrate. The blocking film reflects substantially all of the light.
